POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

One year ago, surrounded by some of my favourite people, I got to celebrate a dream I had spent months bringing to life. 🤍

And somehow, looking back at these pictures, the thing I remember most isn’t even the book. It’s the people who showed up for me.

Slide 1 of many memories from that day. 🥹📖

I only needed to ask once, I had a fire side chat with the best people!

The mother and her offsprings 🤣
See eh! She’s too proud of us

I just realised this photo has a denominator…. Ifitness 🤣🤣
Some of us have been friends before the gym but all of us here have used Ifitness Surulere branch 🤣🤣🤣

“We Meuve” only we we understand this
Now add @waleosoba @lara_martha @man_like_bayo and we are complete

The core planners of this launch! 😍

My girls!!!!
@prettycherrydazzle said Laura, I’m gifting you a makeup artist oh
@badgirldiri @easycookng came with yummy banana bread!
@yemisi_atelier @ayelabolayemi gifted me the outfit I wore

Have friends in high places oh! 🤣

Now! This is family! What’s sweet about this photo, it’s a beautiful mix of my paternal and maternal side 😍

Awon fire panelists!!!! 🙌🙌🙌🙌

@karensglam_ said I will beat your face to stupor! And she didn’t lie!!!!

The Adelekes!!! Should I talk about your doings!!!!
@iamthatmediaguy said I’d handle your media for the day
@anwuli_ chief coordinator!

I’m blessed to have you guys!

You guys can see this cake by @dreamsiclecakes abi
I knew @dynma_ was going to gift me cake but the shock I had when I saw this! This is the definition of intentionality!!!!!

@tegilicious @worldofwishesevents
Nothing beats this layout! So pretty and clean!!!

From my heart to you all 🤭

I was too shocked when I entered and saw the whole room. Damn!!!! You guys! Let me not get emotional again 🥹

E con be like say you guys were more excited than me 🤣🤣

When @tegilicious @worldofwishesevents said her idea for the walk in backdrop will be books, I just knew my sister was planning to go all out! And she did!!!

Who does not like money???? 🤣🤣🤣
The way I was just here i’m supporting with this amount round the room eh!

Get you a support system in the nonprofit world! This right here is it!!!

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of hosting senior management team of Quantum Group Mr. Manohar Kabra, Chairman, and Directors Mr Kalpesh Shah and Mr Girish Mundra for a tour of our facility, offering a closer look at the impact their support has helped unlock — particularly within our Ishk Limb Centre program.

Joined by Mrs. Neha Mehra, our Program Director (Healthcare), Mr. Oje Ivagba, our Program Director (Skills Training), and the Ishk Team, the visit also created space for meaningful conversations on how we can deepen collaboration across other areas of the foundation’s work.

Through partnerships like this, alongside the support of many others, we continue to reach more Nigerians with life-changing interventions — restoring mobility, improving hearing, and creating pathways to skills, independence, and dignity.

It was a valuable moment to reflect on the progress, share insights, and explore what more is possible.

The work continues, powered by collective effort.

At Lagos Free Zone, we believe industrial growth must go hand in hand with community empowerment and shared prosperity.

In collaboration with @ishktolaram, we recently marked the graduation of 31 trainees from the Ishk Tolaram Skills Centre. Following six months of intensive, hands on training in masonry and plumbing, the programme produced 18 certified masons and 13 certified plumbers. These young professionals are now equipped with practical skills, confidence, and real world readiness.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Oje Ivagba, Programme Director, Ishk Tolaram Foundation, emphasized the programme’s goal of improving livelihoods within LFZ’s host communities by fostering self reliance, long term economic stability, and addressing the rising demand for skilled labour along the industrial corridor.

The event also featured inspiring testimonials from graduates, several of whom have already secured employment within the Zone, while others are well positioned to explore opportunities across the wider economic corridor and beyond.

We are proud to support these young professionals as they build sustainable futures and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

In #Kalabari culture, we say:

"Just because a child is taller than his parents, doesn’t mean he is wiser than them." 🌴
My dad used to say, "You can't measure wisdom with a ruler." 📏
Let's respect the roots that raised us. 🌊

Plot twist: I wasn’t planning to do a book launch… until my phone started buzzing nonstop. I opened the WhatsApp group, and boom…my friends had already started a full committee meeting on my behalf.

Next thing I know, they’re drawing up plans, assigning tasks, and telling me: “Laura, this launch must happen LIVE.”

To my amazing friends - I honestly don’t know what I did to deserve you. I love you guys deeply and I don’t take any of this for granted. ❤️

And to my family? Ah. They’ve gone into full planning mode like I just got engaged 😂. I’m grateful beyond words.

Now, thanks to all this love (and mild pressure 😅), we’re officially having a physical launch for my book:

At #TLTKenya2025, @ojematic reminded us that dreaming sets the vision, but waking up to act shapes our destiny. 🌟 #MondayMotivation #TLTKENYA2025 #SeizeTheDay #BuildYourFuture

On 8th July, we were honoured to welcome Mildred-Peace Adebayo, the 41st Miss Nigeria, to our office.

She spent time learning about our work at the Foundation and saw our impact firsthand across our three programs: @ishklimbcentre, @ishkskillshub, and @ishkhearingcentre.

It was also a wonderful opportunity for us to learn about her inspiring work as a psychologist and her advocacy to raise awareness and support for people living with sickle cell disease in Nigeria.

Thank you, @the_mildred, for visiting us and for your interest in our mission to empower underserved communities through skills development, mobility support, and hearing care.

We celebrated 18 exceptional Ishk Skills Hub alumni at the ISH Alumni Business Grant Awards, equipping them with funding and mentorship to grow thriving businesses.

We’re grateful to our speakers and guests for joining us in this milestone moment, including Mr. Saka Abdulateef, Director, Youth Development Department, MYSD; Mr. Victor Omoniyi Awoniyi, Southwest Zonal Director, ITF; and Mr. Vishal Shah, Head of Sustainability at Lagos Free Zone.

A special highlight was hearing firsthand from four of our grant recipients, who shared how Ishk Skills Hub has shaped their business journeys this far.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in making this a truly memorable event.
