POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

November marks our 20th Anniversary.
When i started this company, it was the beginning of 20 years of presenting events, producing concerts, and building relationships with some of the most creative people out there. Throughout the month of November we're celebrating with 10 shows, in various venues, to mark that milestone. I've often said that The Wheat Pool were/are my favourite local band. So, when it came time to plan these shows, I made sure this one was happening one way or another, no matter what. I just needed a yes. I'm thankful to Robb, Glen, Mike, and Stephane, for making a commitment and an effort to celebrate with me.
We spent considerable time and energy, the band and I, to choose collective support for this one. There's no songwriter in Calgary that makes me put tunes on repeat so often as him. So Okay Mann and band will make the trek up QE2.
We wanted someone from the current scene that we all liked, and could bring some class to the joint. I mean, she just played the Edm Folk Festival. C'mon. Various names got thrown into the text thread, but the moment Tayler Grace was suggested, it was a done deal. "Yes." Yes." Yes." 3 digital nods, no further discussion needed. We are stoked to have Tayler and her band kick off the night. Perfect.
No need to tell you about The Aviary, folks. It's a genuine, living breathing fixture and a godsend to this scene. This was always going to be the home for this show. We love you Philip.

The Wheat Pool are a band of brothers, two by blood the rest by love, known for channeling the irreverent spirit of Canadian indie alt-country. After circling the country with two acclaimed albums and songs full of hope and heartbreak, the band ended, but the brotherhood endured. The band has always felt woven by the deep connection to its fans, and have slid inside those songs again, and maybe something new, to find that bond once more with their audience and each other.

We are overwhelmed with the response to Already Gone. Thank you for spinning it, sharing it and for reaching out with such kind words. We love making music together and it means the world to us that others enjoy what we put out into the world. As a bonus we wanted to share just a few band photos we've had take through the years. We've been doing this for a bit!

With love,
The Baron Brothers

OKAY MANN

Meet Katlin Mathison, otherwise known as Okay Mann: a schoolboy heart with wandering toes whose childhood fascination with campfire singalongs sent him across the pond for a mentorship with Paul McCartney, a gold single in Norway, and back to the harsh weather and friendly faces of the Canadian prairies. Now based in Calgary, Okay Mann has been writing and releasing a string of upbeat singles ahead of his sophomore album. Listen for heart-on-your-sleeve rock & roll that worships the hook but keeps thoughtful storytelling front and center. His is the tale of a curious nomad: living and dying, one song at a time.
