Ball at your feet? No problem.

We’re working weekly on attacking the ball and not letting the ball attack us.
- Practicing hips under the ball
- Staying level to the ball through contact and staying low
- Scooping from the ground by lifting and pushing the ball up
- Leading our platform to and under the ball
- We are continuing to work our movements forward and sprawling to the ball

The number one tip I give my setters is hands up early!! Why?
—Faster release = Faster offense
—Improved timing and rhythm
—Reduces double contacts
—More deceptive to blockers
—Confidence & calm under pressure

Bros!! Always be ready and attack the ball!! Don’t let it attack you.
Notice she’s leading her platform to the ball, hips are under the ball and she is stopped ready to make a move 🙌

just when I thought I was done with the sport, it found me in the best way, forever love my 12s

As soon as I found out I was moving home for the year I wanted something fun to do with my time so I asked about coaching. Little did I know this was the best decision I could have made. As I taught lessons on skills, communication, and life, I learned with them. I practiced patience (a lot, brain rot got banned), fought for them (became besties with the head ref a time or two), played from the sidelines a bit (peep slide 18), saw myself in them, and grew into my role as a coach as I watched them grow. Never did I think 12s would be for me but here I am missing them more than ever. Thank you to OK Charge for welcoming me back and guiding me along. To the coaches that taught me everything I know and inspired me to pursue this opportunity, thank you. There are pieces of each of your coaching passed on to these kiddos. To my assistant coach and a new lifelong friend, thank you for arguing for me, for being the perfect balance, and for making this year fun. Lastly to my amazing wonderful silly team, I may not ever be coach Jackie again, but you will always be my players and I can’t wait to see where life takes you. Thank you for making this year the best (and for loving Comet). Ps I still keep finding clips everywhere…
Love, Coach Jackie💗

Creating backspin on the ball to-
-Have control: Backspin helps soften the balls movement and keeps it on our side of the net
-We’re not swinging at it, we’re shaping it!!
-Slows the ball down and lifts the ball higher for a better second contact giving them more time to react
Know when to backspin, change your game!!💪
