Einmal im Kreis um einen Planeten, den es nicht gibt.

Dominique Gonzalez-Foersters „Cosmirama“ erstreckt sich in unserer Ausstellung „Zu den Sternen!“ über einen ganzen Raum. Auf diesem erfundenen Mikroplaneten treffen Figuren aus Literatur und Film auf Menschen aus der Zeitgeschichte und dem Umfeld der Künstlerin. Manche erkennt man sofort, andere erst auf den zweiten Blick.

Insgesamt haben wir 39 Stationen markiert. Die Tafel im Raum hilft bei der Suche, doch das Panorama lässt sich kaum auf einmal erfassen. Man folgt einer Figur, bleibt an einer anderen hängen und entdeckt immer neue Referenzen.

Auch die Bücher, die Gonzalez-Foerster begleitet und inspiriert haben, tauchen im Raum wieder auf: als Kissen. Man kann sich also buchstäblich auf die Literatur setzen und weiterschauen.

Wen erkennt ihr?

Once around a planet that doesn’t exist.

Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster’s „Cosmirama“ stretches across an entire room in „To the Stars!“. On this imagined microplanet, characters from literature and film meet figures from contemporary history and people from the artist’s own circle. Some are instantly recognisable, others take a little longer to spot.

We have marked 39 points throughout the panorama. A guide in the room helps with the search, but Cosmirama is impossible to take in all at once. You follow one figure, pause at another and keep discovering new references.

The books that have accompanied and inspired Gonzalez-Foerster reappear in the room as cushions. So you can quite literally sit on the literature behind this cosmos and keep looking.

Com curadoria de Tomás Toledo, a exposição reúne Anísio O. Couto, Chico da Silva, Grauben do Monte Lima, Silia Moan e Ygor Landarin, em uma reflexão sobre as diferentes maneiras de imaginar, transformar e construir artisticamente a natureza brasileira.

Meteorium III & Fragmentos
De Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, a obra, apresentada originalmente na Pinacoteca de São Paulo, ganha agora a forma de um filme experimental, entre espaço, imagem, ficção e percepção.

ONDE
De Umberto Costa Barros, com curadoria de Catherine Bompuis, a mostra de fotografias, retoma uma pesquisa pioneira sobre espaço, arquitetura, movimento e percepção, a partir de intervenções realizadas pelo artista desde o final dos anos 1960.

Três exposições. Três universos. Um mesmo espaço de encontro.

Aproveitem para tomar um saboroso café do @cafe_heimen no térreo do Tropigalpão.

The sculpture takes the form of a pyeongsang, a traditional Korean raised wooden platform used for communal gathering, sitting, and resting, and is presented with a bespoke lowered ceiling designed for the work.

Exactly 10 years ago, MAAT opened its doors for the first time, and a new cultural campus was born: a vibrant public space for Lisbon, Portugal and the world, with a museum, a large garden and no walls. It was also a major contribution from the private sector, demonstrating the power of civic initiative in dialogue with the City of Lisbon.

What an extraordinary achievement—and what an amazing few days of celebration those were. The city came to a standstill for four days, and the pedestrian bridge had to be closed because so many people were standing on it. MAAT immediately became a cultural and architectural icon, in Lisbon and around the world, bringing art, technology and architecture together. A powerful expression of culture and civic responsibility.

Congratulations to the visionaries who conceived and designed it, to EDP, to all the teams and individuals who made it possible, and to everyone who has carried that vision forward since.
