Amma, Do Giraffe’s Cry? (Kartikeya Saxena / India, Czech Republic / 26 mins / Hindi, English, Czech / 2026)

A son asks a simple question - do animals feel too?

An enclosure glass at Prague Zoo divides the world between the humans and the animals. On the free side, Kartikeya is in a conversation with his Zoologist mother, finding answers to mysterious layers he believes the animals carry. This film exposes how our human-centricity shapes our reality, and invites us to see the animal world, once again, like children.

Ape to Ape (Meike Schaapveld / The Netherlands / 21 mins / Dutch with English Subtitles / 2025)

What if vulnerability is our greatest strength?

Filmmaker Meike sits through an experiment to showcase her weaknesses to the camera, and runs it in parallel to the livelihoods of the Chimpanzees. Turns out, her personal insecurities were some of the greatest strengths of the animals. Sometimes, we forget where we come from. This research invites us to feel it.

Burning Roots, Blooming Fire (Aadhunika Mithyabhasam) (Abhay P / India / 24 mins / Malayalam / 2026)

Weaving threads of ethnographic culture, politics and childhood innocence

A thought-provoking narrative on a young girl opening up her simple world, and connecting the folk tales to the forest around her. Her discovery clashes with human greed, identity conflicts and silence that has been passed on through the generations. Will she grow up adapting or will she continue exploring?
