Oku in Santa Barbara has ocean views upstairs and downstairs, inside and outside. This is a family favorite with something for everyone. Great sushi and flavorful rolls, the Saigon wings are definitely one of the best, the steak was delicious and tender with great veggies and mushroom rice. Fun drinks and excellent friendly service. Always good food, and a nice atmosphere. #sushi #cocktails #steak #oceanview

A few of our favorite spots for dining by the water:

🌊 Shoreline Beach Cafe — toes-in-the-sand dining at Leadbetter Beach

🦞 Boathouse at Hendry’s Beach — fresh seafood + sunset views

🐚 Santa Barbara Shellfish Company — seafood right on Stearns Wharf

🍸 Brophy Bros. — harbor views + classic seafood

🌅 Convivo — coastal Italian-inspired dining overlooking East Beach

🌴 Oku — sushi, cocktails + ocean views

🌮 Flor de Maíz — Mexican cuisine + waterfront patio

✨ Caruso’s — oceanfront dining at Rosewood Miramar Beach in Montecito

Whether you’re looking for a casual beach lunch or a sunset dinner, Santa Barbara makes it easy to pair a good meal with a great view.

Oku is perfectly situated in the Funk Zone, a short walk away from Margerum, and right on the waterfront in Santa Barbara!

@okurestaurant offers top notch quality sushi! The menu ranges from freshly caught seafood, sushi and sashimi to “from-the-land” dishes such as certified Japanese A5 Miyazaki Wagyu and other Asian-inspired cuisine.

In addition, OKU has created a unique menu for vegetarian and gluten-free guests.

The restaurant serves craft cocktails, imported and local beer, and versatile wines rooted in Japanese-inspired elements.

The upstairs outdoor terrasse offers a great view of the beachfront.

Owner Lisa Tanaka of Oku has been in the restaurant business for 26 years and owns several restaurants in town. She welcomed us with open arms and sent over a glass of port to help us celebrate our anniversary and still took time during the Saturday night dinner rush to give a guest a chopstick holding lesson.

To book your next sushi dining experience in @visitsantabarbara head on over to @okurestaurant !!

From sushi at Oku to steak at Lucky’s, Spanish at Loquita, and a La Super-Rica taco worth the line — this is the list I actually send people. Being local means I know where to eat, not just where to stay.
