fr when people say “best day of your life” it’s like wow do you think my life is so basic that the best day is just going to be bc of a wedding but then it happens & you’re like deadass THIS IS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE because why was everything so perfect despite (or because of?) being planned in 1 month having both of our families together under 1 roof & seeing our friends show up in such big & beautiful ways & seeing my parents smile more than I have ever seen them smile in my entire life…day 1 i woke up in a villa ass rental & made our families strong mf coffee & then mijael & I miscommunicated & he went back to our apt which meant I got to shower by myself in our treehouse room on the THIRD story of the villa & I looked in the mirror & screamed bc I saw myself & was like OMG I’M GETTING MARRIED & then I biked to our apt which was cinematic af with my fire ass music playing & the city coming awake on a friday morning & I felt SO HAPPY & EXCITED to see my besties & then I got to the apt & mijael & I danced & cheered & then @2cool4stool @simonsaysshauna @maia_polis @ashleeyy_o @ol_geee showed up from CA & we all popped champagne & screamed & @la.purnimaa started filming & @slu_cifer started photographing & @lalitoaveces sent over the top/coat/veil they made IN ONE DAY & it all fit so perfect I thought i’d explode of joy esp when everyone’s face was like OMG QUEEN SLAY & mijael teared up & then @tigerrabbittiger went into auntie mode & organized our cars to the ceremony & in the ride over I was like OMG IT’S HAPPENING & if there is any such thing as true bliss it enveloped me in the car with mijael & we got there & hugged our fams & friends & took photos & laughed & got married & gave our vows & shared speeches & danced to mariachi & ordered 1000 shots from the open bar & everyone fell in love with everyone & then we made an after at the airbnb with cake/pizza & my dad kept feeding ppl wine as if he was a missionary/the party his religion & at one point my friends & I sang ONCE UPON A TIME by mariahlynn & my mom danced/cheered us on as we screamed I WAS A HOE & I don’t think i’ve ever smiled or laughed as much in a span of 12 hours & THAT WAS JUST THE FIRST DAY!

2023 RECAP 🌅 the dissonance this past year of mourning lives lost yet wanting to live your own life to the fullest was a tough one to navigate. i think the people in my life made the most of it, and i’m so grateful for each person who was a part of my year 🫶🏼

Forget me not (nyc diary):

They say nyc is a vulnerable but resilient city, one loved fiercely by it’s inhabitants. I wondered how I would feel living there, feeling alone again amongst others, searching for a connection within a mass of people.

What I found there was a warm chosen queer family. We had conversations about love, partnership and longing for each other.
