1/4 of the year has already gone by, and boy did it fly. This time last year, I was fighting for my life — drawing from a strength within me I didn’t even know existed.

When you go through something as life-threatening as cancer and are given the grace to live again… what do you do? 🤔

For me, I’ve chosen to carry on — but differently.

I’ve filled my time with celebrations, birthdays, weddings, farewells and surprise engagements. I’ve gone to concerts. I’ve continued my advocacy work with Bowel Cancer NZ, and had the privilege of speaking in Parliament for the Never Too Young report.

I’ve returned to work with better boundaries and routines to take care of myself. I’m moving my body again, getting back into the gym, and proactively seeing a physiotherapist and chiropractor. I’ve sought support from a nutritionist, and I’m staying consistent with my medications, water intake, and sleep. 🧘🏼‍♀️

I’ve also found the courage to speak up — putting forward a complaint to Auckland City Hospital, because the care and support after oncology hasn’t been what it should be. I don’t want anyone else to have to struggle the way I have.

And maybe for the first time, I’ve allowed myself to be a little selfish — in the best way. I’m putting my energy where it matters most: into my healing, my wellbeing, and myself. And I’m finally okay with that.

But the most exciting part?
Planning the wedding of my dreams with the love of my life 💖

We’ve poured so much time, energy (and yes, money 😅) into selecting our wedding party , and now that it’s all coming together… the date feels closer, the anticipation is building, and it’s all starting to feel very real.

Always grateful. Always privileged. Always loved — and loving 🪷
