as I prepared to talk about the depth of meaning behind the auction item my dad donated to @wallowaresources my dad was capturing the double rainbow over the farm. the magic that exists in this valley and love of this community that raised me. the combination of mine and my dads donation raised thousands of dollars for the organization that ensures we protect this valleys natural resources and take care of our neighbors.

it is everything to me and I am so proud to be my parents daughter and honored to live in this valley and in this community.

As I prepare to bake a lemon curd and huckleberry compote pie for the @wallowaresources Barn Dance auction, I noticed the vintage of the pie dish. This pie dish has been in my dad’s @olafs_pottery personal collection since 1998. The huckleberries are from my private reserve and harvested with my mom @leighdawson8 who taught me to love the canyons and land that Wallowa Resources works so hard to protect. Tomorrow I will fill the vase with flowers cut from the flower garden on the farm my great grandfolks purchased and the land my grandparents and now my father stewards so passionately. This auction item represents everything this valley and community means to me and what I hold so deeply. the values I cherish the most.

Did a little tour of @olafs_pottery studio in Wallowa County Oregon. What a beautiful place to make pots. I loved his hand built gas kiln, and the classic potter move of precariously stacking wares all over the studio, and of course who wouldn’t love the fresh water spring perfect for christening new mugs. 😍
What a magical place! 🌾💧

Happy Monday! It is definitely feeling like spring around here. These little bud vases are perfect for the first flowers. They are inspired by one I got from @olafs_pottery last fall and have had on my window sill filled with whatever greenery and flowers I have. They are such a fun size.
I will have a bunch of these at our spring artisan market May 10th. At Stein’s Distillery in Joseph 10-4.

It is so hot! 🥵 When you aren’t enjoying the outdoors, have you considered reading about it? These are a few of my favorites about the area that I reference often. Also brought a little yard inside.
