The Old Dillard Museum📍 1009 NW 4th St, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

As Dillard turns 120 years old in 2027. I recently with the help of my sister Alisha Winn, have uncovered the final resting place of one of Florida's most notable educators.

In this special, you'll hear the story of Clarence C. Walker, his legacy that lasts to this day. And a call to action to honor the man who died for his students. Next year also makes it 85 years since Clarence C. Walker's Sr. Death, July 7th, 1942.

One of the most historically significant buildings in all of South Florida is Broward County’s @OldDillardMuseum so we pulled up and got a full tour courtesy of curator Emmanuel George of @BlackBroward and we were awe struck by what we found!

Multiple exhibits and countless artifacts dating back to the early days of Broward County displayed what life, love and education looked like for black residents and their communities!

Even still there is sooo much here that we couldn’t fit in this video. Take a trip and visit @olddillardmuseum for the full detailed one hour tour! 🙌🙌🙌

Introducing the Community Charrette tool at the last of the 7 scheduled BCPS @browardschoolsofficial "Redefining Our Schools" community meetings regarding the 10-11 schools currently on the list.

The Broward to the Future campaign is a go-watch more via YouTube here: https:// youtu.be/pN50aj5a8Xw

As you know: A lot of Ms. Guice’s work is about teaching the community how to engage in public affairs… whether it be a school board, city commission, or a legislative body— I want to be here to support the community with understanding the process… and how to use your voice.

To my understanding, William Dandy received a letter of intent from a Schools of Hope operator meaning the school board says they are obligated by Florida statute to either agree to give Dandy to the charter school or get the community on board with a “co-location agreement” where our Dandy scholars would share the campus with the charter school next year.
