Oh, I LOVE this trend! “2016 is the new 2026…”while I have no idea what that means, I’m happy to share snippets of life from then.

I was transitioning in many ways. I was:
Determining who my actual friends were
Getting my second bachelors degree that spoke to my heart and soul (psychology) and working at @stockadetavern
Parenting two littles - and we had a LOT of fun
Exploring life in the ways I could, cause I didn’t have much money so exploring far wasn’t an option
Eating delicious food
Drinking WAY too much alcohol
Laughing and performing nonsensical acts, with what felt like EVERYone in Kingston
Still enjoying brunch at @duobistrokingston

…and like 2025, 2016 was deeply challenging for my heart and emotions and incredibly rewarding for my personal growth and capacity and resilience.

What a decade it was!

Today would have been mom’s 88th birthday. While I miss her in the most profound way, I’m so glad she doesn’t have to experience the giant stumbles backwards our society has taken. Hopefully, she and all the others who worked so hard for equality and freedom, can work together from above to conquer the abomination of 47.
In her name and spirit of my ancestors, I proudly exercised my right to peaceful protest and free speech yesterday and will continue to do so. I love you Georgia Vancza…. You were one hell of a lady, and certainly wouldn’t take any shit sitting down. I miss you every day…Hapoy Birthday

I was walking out of the house, heading to work and I stopped at the mirror with my 80’s cusp hair and double denim.
