💪 “Power Girl!” When your mom is @kimlumdanson aka "Power Mom"

The technique was great—but our favourite part was what happened after.

A proud parent cheering, a happy student demonstrating, an excited student eager for their turn, and a room full of kids encouraging one another. That’s the kind of environment we’re working to build every day.

In this class, students are learning age-appropriate self-defence skills while developing confidence, resilience, coordination, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. Every technique is taught in a safe, supportive setting where children are encouraged to grow at their own pace.

If you’re looking for an afterschool kids activity in Downtown Toronto that helps children build confidence while learning practical martial arts and self-defence, we’d love to welcome you.

📍 Serving families in St. Lawrence Market, East Waterfront, Distillery District, Canary District, Corktown, Cabbagetown, Regent Park, Riverside, and the Bay Street community.

Experience Guides. Effort Delivers. Results Follow.

Jump rope isn't just about cardio. It's about rhythm, coordination, timing, balance and confidence. When children are taught the right progression, they spend less time frustrated. They can spend more time building skills that transfer into Brazilian jiu jitsu, kickboxing, and every other movement and skill they will learn.

Serving families from St. Lawrence Market, Distillery District, East Waterfront, Canary District, Corktown, Cabbagetown, Regent Park, Riverside, and the Bay Street community.

🌍 One movement sequence. Endless benefits.

For more than 25 years, this foundational movement routine—developed by Professor Shah—has helped everyone from professional MMA athletes to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners, beginners, adults, and kids build better movement.

This sequence develops:
✅ Coordination
✅ Core strength
✅ Mobility
✅ Hand and leg strength
✅ Balance
✅ Body awareness
✅ Functional movement

The beauty is that the sequence stays the same, while the intensity and focus can be adapted to any age or experience level. Whether you’re a child learning movement fundamentals or an athlete refining performance, the basics never stop being valuable.

At our Downtown Toronto kids martial arts academy, these movement drills help students build a strong foundation for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, kickboxing, Muay Thai, karate, and everyday athleticism.

📍 Serving families from St. Lawrence Market, East Waterfront, Canary District, Corktown, Cabbagetown, Regent Park, Riverside, and the Bay Street community.

How would you adapt this sequence to your own movement goals?
