🎥✨ Media Producer Edition – Workshop Report ✨🎥

ʻŌlelo Community Media × MIRAI HANA
@olelocommunity

For MIRAI HANA’s 27th Kids Job Experience Workshop, 12 children stepped into a real television studio at ʻŌlelo Community Media for our first-ever media production experience! 🎬

🎥 The children learned how ʻŌlelo helps Hawaiʻi communities share their stories and discovered the many careers behind television production.

🎤 In the Mini Studio, they prepared their lines, practiced speaking on camera, and worked together to record a video.

🎛️ Inside the control room, they experienced how directors, producers, and other team members coordinate a production.

📹 They also learned to operate a professional video camera—practicing pan, tilt, and zoom, and discovering why expensive equipment must be handled with care.

A special highlight was the children’s opportunity to help film Trevor’s YouTube video! Their curiosity and enthusiasm brought so much energy to the studio. 💛

Through this experience, they learned that media production is not just about being on screen. It takes communication, listening, responsibility, and teamwork to bring a story to life.

Mahalo to Neal, Gabriel, Wayne, Alex, and the entire ʻŌlelo Community Media team for welcoming the children and giving them such a memorable hands-on experience! 🎥✨

Your memories are precious.

The laughter of your loved ones. The stories only you can tell. The ʻohana who count on you.

Here in Hawaiʻi, dementia is touching more families every day:

~ 31,000 people are living with Alzheimer's
~ 62,000 family caregivers are giving unpaid care
~ 111 million hours of unpaid care every year — worth $3.3 billion

Many people believe losing these memories is simply inevitable. But science tells us something hopeful: nearly half of all dementia cases can be delayed or even prevented, starting with lifestyle choices you can make today.

And it's never too late to start. You still have the power to protect what matters most.

Use the link in bio to take your personalized brain care score today. In just a few minutes, you can take a real step toward protecting your mind, your memories, and your independence, so you can keep showing up fully for the ones you love.

Let's help Hawaiʻi outsmart dementia, together.

Along with my @honolulupd Ohana, this is behind the scene from our 53rd Honor Run for @running4heroesinc which was held at the Ke Kula Makaʻi Academy. I want to thank @honolulufiredepartment for joining us.

I was 1 of 14 Youth Runners, from 10 different States that ran in Unity with each carrying the FREEDOM FLAG to reflect the 25th Anniversary of September 11th, 2001. We honored the lives lost on that day and those who we continue to lose as a result of 9/11 related cancers and illness.
My 1-mile run was to Honor Fallen First Responders lost due to Post 9/11 related illness.

I presented this @freedomflagfoundation , along with a piece of steel from The World Trade Center, Tower 1 to Police Chief David Lazar at the Main Police Station.
