In June 2027, our principal dancer Olga Esina will conclude an extraordinary career that has inspired audiences and fellow artists for over two decades. Since joining the company in 2006, Olga has become one of its defining artists, admired for her elegance, expressive power, and exceptional versatility across classical, neoclassical, and contemporary repertoire.
While looking forward to new artistic paths and sharing her knowledge with future generations, Olga is embracing every moment of this very special final season. Please join us in celebrating an exceptional artist and an unforgettable career.

✨Season 25/26 at the Vienna States Opera✨
What a Season it was! It was the first season for me being in charge of the women’s hair and makeup for all ballet productions. From working together with amazing @jeanmarcpuissant in Kallirhoe to rolling out on stage hiding behind a small paravent in Fledermaus 🦇 ✨
A huge thank you to all dancers that trusted me with doing their hair troughout the season, it means a lot to me🫶🏼 I was only able to capture a few memories on camera which you can see in this post but there were so much more! This season brought so much joy, new work relationships and most important, wonderful friendships🩷

As the 25/26 season comes to a close, I’ve finally been able to undergo a medical procedure after living with chronic pain on my foot for the past two years.

Dancing through pain, pushing my body when it was asking for rest, and having to cancel performances and exciting projects was one of the most frustrating and heartbreaking experiences of my life. There were moments when it felt overwhelming, but looking back now, I’m incredibly proud of myself for how I carried this struggle. It’s humbling to realize how much strength the body and mind can summon when they have no other choice.
I want to thank everyone who stood by me during this difficult chapter. Your support, patience, and belief in me carried me through days when I couldn’t do it on my own.
I also want to take a moment to reflect on my first season at the Wiener Staatsballett. I always felt in my heart that this move was the right decision, but this past year has exceeded anything I imagined. Being surrounded by such artistry, discipline, and excellence has been deeply inspiring, and learning from the very best has shaped me both as an artist and as a person.

Now, I look ahead with gratitude and hope, focused on recovery, healing, and returning next season stronger, wiser, and more grounded than ever.

Closing of the 2025/26 Theatre Season ♥️

This week marked the closing of the 2025–2026 season at the Vienna State Opera with an unforgettable Ballet Gala dedicated to the legendary British choreographer Sir Frederick Ashton

I honestly didn’t expect to see so many iconic classical ballets performed in a single evening. Lately, whenever I think of the Vienna State Opera, I tend to associate it with contemporary productions. But tonight was a beautiful celebration of the classical ballet repertoire!

A truly unforgettable evening and the perfect way to close another amazing theatre season

Tonight's Ballet Gala at @wienerstaatsoper not only marks the end of an extraordinary first season under the artistic direction of Alessandra Ferri, but also celebrates the timeless legacy of Sir Frederick Ashton.
From the Vienna premieres of Ashton’s »Rhapsody« and Christopher Wheeldon’s »Within the Golden Hour« to excerpts from Ashton’s own repertoire and works connected to his muses, inspirations, and artistic companions, tonight’s gala - presented as part of the Ashton Worldwide 2024–2028 festival - pays tribute to an iconic artist and to the enduring beauty of ballet. A huge TOI TOI TOI to everyone on and off stage.
