Set to the electric melodies and guttural drums of ‘Pink Floyd’ comes an exploration of the human desire to resolve things in absolutes. The search for black and white unravels in grey, ‘lines of categorisation’ bend - giving way to the ‘circular’. Nuance is infinite. “Up and down, and in the end, it’s only round and round, and round” - Floyd. Photo credit @garthbadger

MARKING OUT 3 COUNT is coming to Tempo Festival next week !!! Saturday 17th October 2-5pm (audience come and go as you like) Te Puna Creative Hub Henderson @tepunahub More info on the Tempo Website @tempofestivalnz (🔗 in bio 🤡) MARKING OUT 3 COUNT centres on the role of the referee in professional wrestling. In the "three-count" the referee slaps the mat to determine the winner and loser, though the outcome has already been scripted. Both essential and superfluous, this theatrical gesture creates an illusion of fairness, making a fixed result feel legitimate and live. Taken out of context, its meaning contorts, expands, unravels. Post includes some pics and screen shots from an early marking out of MARKING OUT at @gertrudecontemporary in March, Screen grabs from @jordanjameskaye and footage from @ipw_nz in 2024 (video by Jessie McCall ) MO3C Tempo will be performed by a team of dancers and pro wrestlers: Raven Afoa-Purcell @ravenfaasu Keanu Clyde William Kerridge @will_stonepw Oli Mathiesen @oli_sen Olivia McGregor @livmcgreg Rosamund Philpott @rosamundmoves Nathan Smith  Leilani Tominiko @theedollcandy Toalei Pearl @toaleipearl Video Jessie McCall Sound Robbie Divine @robbie.divine
