𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘱𝘪𝘤𝘬 𝘶𝘱 𝘢 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘪𝘵 press release from our most recent group exhibition at Tramhouse 11 in Amsterdam.

The space was originally built at the end of a tramline to provide tram workers with a place to hold meetings, eat lunch, and use the toilet. Many thanks to @11tram for allowing us to exhibit in this strange and special building.

Oliver Offord, To fruit and vegetate like common things at last, 2025.
Solvent transfer print, egg tempera, silverpoint, and pencil on gesso’d board, wood, poly sheeting, various studio materials and equipment.
152.5x102x50cm

Currently on display all through the month until 24 January.

Egg tempera paintings are suspended and set into the plastic sheeting vitrine Oliver Offord constructed, containing carefully curated studio paraphernalia. What items do we surround ourselves with in the creative process? Superfluous objects to some, crucial and teeming with research or utility to others. The container is a device that reframes. It transforms and recontextualizes even as it serves as a mechanism for enclosure and display. The arrangement of Offord’s studio objects alongside the more finished paintings demonstrates the arc of his process. His sealing of the plastic display brings a forensic quality to the work, a self-interrogation.

Oliver Offord (b.1997, Gloucestershire, UK) completed his BA at Wimbledon College of Arts in 2019, before receiving his post-graduate diploma at The Royal Drawing School in 2021. His work visualises a network of intertwined narratives stemming from science, psychology, mythology and social history. He is particularly interested in the ways in which nature is able to adapt and transform in a rapidly changing world, and how threat, symbiogenesis, scarcity and desire can act as creative impulses. Recent exhibitions include: ‘Scaffolds’ at Set 91, London (2025); ‘Vitreous Body’ [Solo] at Bolding, London (2025); ‘The 12th House’ at The White Ermine, Düsseldorf (2025); ‘Farce’ at Farce Gallery, London (2025); ‘Illuminations’ at Set Lewisham, London (2024); and ‘Placed’ at Rattle and Brash, Stroud (2024). His work is held by the UAL and Royal Collection.
