in spite of my months long backlog of photos, I feel like I have to jump straight into this year's NAMT Festival of New Musicals, which was one of the strongest in recent memory! 8 excellent presentations, 4 'college roadtrips', 1 songwriters showcase, a seemingly infinite amount of talent, and more friends than I can count... but here's some selfies with a few!

@janinemcguire & @adamonlineagain had a blast representing the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop at the @namt_org Festival. We ran into so many friends from the workshop and beyond. Special congratulations to past workshoppers @michaelkooman @dimondvision @seldania & @jaimelozano and their featured shows!

PIANO PORTRAIT #39

This past weekend I achieved a long held dream: to produce and host the first ever WAKEMAN FEST in my Brooklyn home. It was a day to celebrate writers, creators and the artistic community at large. It was beyond my wildest expectations.

We had an incredible roster of writers share their stunning work. We also had some of my favorite bands playing under the stars in my backyard. Plus my husband, ever the consummate host, put out multiple gorgeous and delicious spreads.

Throughout the day I got to hang with old friends. Made new friends. Discovered new favorite songs and shows. And most importantly, it helped us all feel a little bit less lonely in this crazy industry.

The lovely @catboynton was documenting the whole day including capturing these great pics of me and my fellow writers at the piano. The second shot is with my co-producer @allaboutmimi13. We have been doing theater since we were kids in Vancouver and we’re still at it babes ❤️

I am so grateful to all the artists and attendees who took a chance on this idea and helped get it off the ground. I am excited to say that conversations are already ongoing about how to turn this into an annual event so stay tuned.

In the meantime, please follow our new Instagram @wakemanfest
