I came to MSU knowing the meteorology program was nationally recognized, and it didn’t disappoint. These people & the memories will always hold a special place in my heart.⚡️🌦️👩‍🎓

My Meteorology Family 🤍

These are my people. The ones I leaned on every single day of college. The ones who made the long nights in the library, the stress over Mercer and Brown exams, and the excitement of landing our first jobs unforgettable!!!

This is, without a doubt, the greatest friend group I’ve ever been a part of, and the hardest goodbye as we all go our separate ways. I’ve never been surrounded by a more driven, passionate, and genuinely brilliant group of people. I truly believe God led me exactly where I was meant to be, right into this program and right to this incredible group of humans. I don’t know what I’ll do when I don’t get to see them every day in Hilbun, but I do know the future of meteorology is in the best hands.

I am so lucky to have shared this journey with them!!! We’ll walk the stage together on May 14th, for one final meteorological migration 🤍

Feeling beyond grateful to be able to attend & lead the annual Southeast Severe Storms Symposium! Over the past 4 years at MSU, the meteorology industry has changed significantly, but the people sure haven’t. Each symposium has been a new chance to learn from leaders & build connections across the country. It was an honor to be recognized with a graduation cord from FOX Weather, the people who played such a pivotal role in helping me chase my dreams during my time at MSU!

Olivia Anderson is a senior from Jackson Minnesota, majoring in professional meteorology. She is serving as the symposium chair for the 24th Southeast Severe Storms Symposium. Her childhood fear of weather turned into fascination. She is passionate about helping others and science, which are perfectly intertwined in meteorology. Outside of her studies, Olivia works at the Starkville Country Club, and she loves running, hiking, and baking.
