“Shoes on.”

The five weeks spent in Walter Garcia’s TOTEM II program were five of my most challenging weeks.

Physically challenging: between the training, harsh conditions, lack of rest, injuries, and all that our bodies endured.
Mentally challenging: from never knowing what each day had in store for us, to the new skills we learned, and a new curriculum to memorize.
Emotionally challenging: encountering battles with fear, frustration, shame, uncertainty, and doubt.

Still, we push through. “All the way through.” We fight, we win.

The five weeks spent in Walter Garcia’s TOTEM II program were five of my most /rewarding/ weeks.

I accomplished things I never thought I was capable of. Every day I become a better teammate, a better athlete, and a better stunt performer. I learned how strong I truly was, and how much stronger I want to become.
I adopted a mindset of renewed dedication, ferocity, and focus. I learned how to better balance confidence with humility.
I learned the importance of channeling my emotions positively into progress.
I raised the bar for myself.

But the greatest gift that TOTEM II has given me is 23 new friends from around the globe, each and every one so uniquely talented. Thank you all for welcoming me to share this experience with you, I strive to become worthy of that honor.

This life changing experience would never have been possible without all of the instructors, riggers, mentors, and guest speakers who shared their time, skills, and knowledge with us. Thank you all for keeping us safe, uplifted, and inspired.

Thank you, Walter Garcia, for seeing something in me and giving me this opportunity to come train, learn, and grow with this incredible team of people.

I look forward to seeing you all again. Until then, “respect.”

Why am I writing all of this out on social media? What does any of this have to do with YOU?

Simple.

Absorb the lessons.

Learning is about creation, not consumption. It's easy to survive a few hard days or tough training sessions, but that isn't what life is about. The truly important lesson is how you allow that transformation to further manifest across your life.

𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗶𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗮 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁. If you are alive, then put on your shoes and give each day what you've got.
