…and the senior year ends at graduation as VALEDICTORIAN!!!!!! 🎉😁🥇👨‍🎓🤍

Since I completed the biggest chapter and goal of my life, I wanted to write one final letter to my school!

Dear Fredericktown Local Schools,
Oh, where do I even begin? I have walked these halls and attended class here for 17 years! There have been so many ups, downs, smiles, tears, sweat, and blood, but I would not change the final storyline! As I attended school here in preschool, I could not even say my name! When asked, I would respond “yay-yay,” but when asked how to spell it, I would say “Brandon.” Between my early years and third grade, I spent my school life in the class of 2023, but I ended up getting held back! After I joined the class of 2024, my entire outlook on my academic and social situation changed because I knew I was now seen as a leader with my new class! As this new chapter began, I had an expectation for myself, but it intensified in 5th grade! During my 5th grade year, I learned the title of Valedictorian! Once I knew about this, I worked extremely hard to earn this title! During this academic journey, there have been mountains that I have conquered, but only with the strength of God! When I worked for this title, I lost countless hours of sleep and put my health on the line as there were some times where I would not eat until I completed my homework! When this was the worst, it was also during the time of the coronavirus, which multiplied the situation even further! Although there have been negatives, there have been so many positives! Without my school and getting held back in 3rd grade, I would never have formed the real and sincere friendships that I have now, never discovered my love for running, won the NHS talent show for hula-hooping, or won my academic awards! Through it all, I have learned that it is important to have fun and act how a student would! Thank you for all of the homecomings, proms, sporting events, social interactions, and incredible faculty/staff! As I conclude, I want to thank each and every person that has supported me and cheered me along the way! The love that has been felt cannot be compared! ♥️
Sincerely,
Brandon Cobb
