Braylee worked really hard to be here! It was a really rough trip but I’m super proud of how she did! Tough opponents, but she accomplished some things in her matches that she had struggled with in the past. And she never quit! Now we get to have some fun for the next couple of days in Vegas!! 🤙

My Baby Brave is growing up! 🥹 Had his 2nd tournament today. He didn’t win his 2 matches, but I just love how happy and confident he is when competing. He just knows the wins will eventually come! Shout out to Big Sis Braylee for cornering him while Ollie and I reffed. Proud of both my babies 🫶

Big day for BrayDay! 5 divisions including stepping up to give a heavier and older 12 year old girl some matches. She won both her Challenger matches which got her the two eagle medals. She also won Gold in NoGi and Silver in Gi! Plus passed her goal of 100 wins on smoothcomp by her 9th birthday! 🔥

Today marks 3 months of @blackrosejiujitsu . It’s been a huge success. Success means different things to different people. I want to share what it means to me.

I took these pictures at 8:10 on Thursday. Our last class ends at 7:30. People stayed to drill, to learn, or just to hang out. BlackRose is a place that folks want to be and to build a community together. You all are still in the gym 45 minutes later than you needed to be. That is what I think is success.

Thank you to the endless list of supporters in the Portland martial arts scene that got us to where we are today. Here’s to the next three months and many more.

Thank you @ollieillustrations for probably the first mural to go up in this neighborhood. Hope to see many more. We love it and 🐶 Queen Ellie (my 17 year old pug client) says wonderful job!
