Kayaking through the peaceful waters of Lake McLaren with @waimarinokayaktours was pure bliss or should I say unreal

Gliding across the lake, surrounded by native bush and stillness... it’s one of those experiences that just hits different.

And if you think that’s good - the evening glowworm tour takes it to another level. Paddling into the canyon as thousands of glowworms light up the night like stars... pure magic

LOCATION 👇

One of our favourite chasms in New Zealand to kayak as it's easily accessible and not well known so you'll most likely have this magical spot all to yourself. Having been so many times, it still never looses its charm. Even better at night this chasm lights up with thousands of glowworms.

With multiple launching areas and the kayak there being just as beautiful as the chasm itself, it's a 10/10 from us.

Kia Ora e Te Whānau,

Whakaoratia Te Waitaha is a student led movement amongst the fight to protect the Aoraki of NZ rivers, the pristine Waitaha.

A few weeks ago we ventured out to see the historical beauty for ourselves, an experience filled with awe at the natural environment which surrounded us.

This vulnerable Awa is in irreversible danger to be used for a hydro scheme and join the other 2/3 of NZ rivers which have faced the same fate. Join us, tautoko this page, share, we must protect the little we have left.
