POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

This past year has been full of blessings, adventures, and new opportunities. I have overwhelming gratitude to my support system both in Utah and Colorado to help me pursue becoming a doctor. I have been blessed to watch my friends add to their growing families, and others marry their forever person. Watch my friends grow into compassionate, strong women that are steadfast in their morals has been amazing. Its hard to watch one of your best friends come out of the worst times of their life and finally be able to breath only to watch your other best friend start to stumble. However, this year was also full of hardships and lessons learned. One of the greatest challenges has been stepping away from the athletic mindset after my CNA injury. Even though there are aspects of being an athlete I still have, it is hard to know that others are fading away. I knew this shift in mindset was coming but this was the year I was truly humbled. I can't always open jars, I can't do pullup's or pushup's anymore without numbness, I can't even do my runs without radiating pain. The discipline and identity I carried as an athlete are harder to maintain, especially with the limited time I now have for myself, making consistency in the gym a struggle. It's even harder when you cant control your weight because you cant do the things you use to be able to do. Mentally its hard to grasp. I have learned though that strength is not only measured physically but also by the ability to adapt and persevere. While I may not be the athlete I once was, I can proudly say I’ve built endurance in surviving eight‑hour lecture marathons, studying from 6am to 10pm, and survive a 50 minute pilates class. On a lighter note, medical school has given me plenty of comic relief. I’ve realized that “study breaks” usually mean staring at textbooks and pretending it’s recreational reading. My caffeine intake could probably qualify as a clinical trial, and I’m convinced that memorizing acronyms is its own Olympic sport. Anatomy lab taught me that the human body is amazing, but also that formaldehyde is not a fragrance I’d recommend.
With love ❤️

2023 was both one of the rockiest and, in so many wonderful ways, one of the best years I have ever experienced. While I couldn’t capture every moment, or every person, that meant something to me, here is a mix of some of the memories I am taking with me into 2024.
