5 Things Desperation Is NOT

1. Having a deep longing or desire to be married.

2. Being open about your desire for marriage and family.

3. Praying about your desire for marriage and speaking about it in faith.

4. Dreaming about the kind of marriage you want and the kind of man you desire.

5. Being interested in conversations about marriage, love, and relationships.

Desiring marriage doesn’t make you desperate. You can desire it, pray about it, prepare for it, and talk about it without being desperate.

Which of these misconceptions about desiring marriage do you think needs to be challenged the most?

Marriage requires more than love; it takes sacrifice, patience, and the willingness to put someone else’s needs into consideration.

Sometimes, relationships reveal the areas where we need to grow and prepare us for greater responsibilities.

Are you willing to grow beyond yourself to make room for someone else?

Marriage is more than companionship. It is one of the ways God shapes us into the character of Christ.

Sometimes, the very thing we struggle to give up is the very thing marriage will teach us to surrender.

God is not just preparing us for a wedding. He is preparing us for heaven.

Marriage isn’t about finding someone who is already fully “cooked.”

Sometimes, the person God brings is still growing in certain areas. The question is not just, “Does he have everything I want?” but, “Can we grow together with God at the centre?”

Don’t confuse high standards with expecting perfection. 🤍

Wanting marriage doesn’t make you desperate. And waiting doesn’t mean God has forgotten you. 🤍

You can desire marriage deeply, bring that desire honestly to God, and still trust Him completely.

If you’ve ever been in Jola’s shoes, you’re not alone.
