Dear Volleyball,
As I stepped off the court for the final time, I truly found myself at a loss for words. How do I put 9 years and 20 seasons into a short paragraph? In reality, I really can't. From the moment I stepped onto the court in third grade, I knew this could be my passion. Or at least, I thought. To my school volleyball career, thank you for the countless years of memories with some of my best friends. To say it was all sunshine, lollipops, and rainbows wouldn't be fair because it wasn't. I fell in love with the game, but I also learned to hate it at times. I often found myself comparing myself to the people around me and putting an unhealthy amount of pressure on myself as a teenage girl. Through it all, I learned lessons that went far beyond the court. To my club career, thank you for the long practices, endless tournaments, and the sisters I gained along the way. I'm so grateful to have friendships that I know will last a lifetime, and some that I know will stand beside me on my wedding day. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to prove what kind of athlete I could be, for allowing me to make a name for myself, and for teaching me to believe in myself when no one else did. To my parents, thank you for being the best cheerleaders a girl could ever ask for. Thank you for the countless hours spent driving me to and from practices and tournaments before I could drive myself and for the thousands of dollars invested in this sport year after year. Thank you for helping me relearn my most basic motor skills after surgery. Most importantly, thank you for believing in me when I couldn't believe in myself.
Lastly, to all my coaches and teammates over the years, thank you for helping shape me into the athlete and person I am today. Thank you, Bishop Ready Volleyball, for the last four years. You gave me memories I'll carry long after I leave the court.
Volleyball, you gave me friendships, lessons, heartbreaks, and moments I'll never be able to put into words. You challenged me, changed me, and became such a huge part of who I am. As much as it hurts to say goodbye, I'm grateful for every second that brought me here.

Signing off,
