Hope you’re thirsty for some more knowledge next week ! 🥂This month, we’re delighted to welcome Dr Rebecca James from the Department of Marine Science as our Thirst for Knowledge speaker this month. Her talk, « Learning to work with the ocean », explores how researchers are harnessing the ocean’s natural processes to help address some of the most pressing challenges posed by climate change. Runaway carbon, rising seas and extreme storms - the effects of climate change have caught up with us. But the ocean might be part of the solution, and we are learning to work with its natural processes to tackle these problems. From speeding up weathering to enhance the ocean’s CO2 uptake, to restoring coastal ecosystems to filter water and protect coastlines, researchers are applying nature-based solutions to make us and the environment more climate resilient. The ocean’s been doing this for millions of years, now we’re learning to help it along. Everyone is welcomed 🫶🏼 See you Tuesday !

Ombrellos Kitchen & Bar 📌

Sirloin and Ribeye Steak 10/10
Pesto Chicken Pasta 10/10

Overall great experience! Good serving size, mushroom sauce and both the steaks were delicious. The drinks were tasty and the pesto chicken was made well. Had good vibes and atmosphere. Only concern is the price but would 100% recommend coming here!
