First CLUB show 🤴after top surgery @kittysu.mumbai

So many feelings as I was getting ready. No more binding my chest. No more spending time stretching my breast to make it look flat. I could spend enough time doing my makeup which I love. Euphoria silenced every she/her that happened in the room.

I am HIM. I am Them.

My name is Mx.Stallion and drag has been the greatest teacher in my performance arts journey.

As a drag king I don’t want to fit into the ideas of hyper masculinity, surely play with it but also not feel the pressure. Often even in #drag I find myself questioning if I am manly enough? But I never started doing drag to be a man or a woman or anything. I just found it so gender affirming to be a #dragking <3

My drag is performance heavy, mug beauty, dance freely, spirit worldly, story telling, #nonbinary and more kinda vibe. I am not one thing, I am many :”)

To all those who have supported me and known me since a long time, thank you for rooting for this baby boy.

He is growing, learning, changing & evolving.

To be able to #transition is a gift in itself 🏳️‍⚧️

being a drag king is a gift too.

I will never forget the first time I made a moustache on me during lockdown and life was never the same after.

Just a #nonbinary t boy trying to live a boyhood I never got; reimagining what it would feel, going through puberty again by choice; feeling it all, soaking it in. My heart is overjoyed & soaked in deep gratitude for every day I get to live as me, while I turn more me, more inwards, more in love & tune with myself. ❤️

This journey is bliss & filled with every emotion because of those of who paved the way. I am grateful for every single #trans & #nonbinary being whose existence makes me want to keep living & showing up <3 THANKYOU!!

Similar to a person experiencing their vision for the first time, I feel with my new chest, I am getting to see the world all over again. 🏳️‍⚧️

I am doing so much better than before, which was feeling like a long way to go when I had just completed a few days post op top surgery. The journey has definitely not just been one filled with joy but a mixed of emotions. I have been going through a roller coaster ride yet each time when I get a moment to acknowledge my new reality now - a flat chest? I feel exhilarated….

Joy hits the chest differently
Pain & grief somehow feels more personal
Now when I can truly hold myself through it
Yes I am happy, but this is not the end of it
This is no crossover, only a beginning
One where I see a long life ahead of me
One where I have just started living

#transjoy is subjective, #transjoy looks different on different people, #gendereuphoria is a journey so individual, we all may come under the same umbrella but the clouds over our head, their colours are all different.

P.S. Yesterday my surgeon checked my nipples and they have been accepted by the skin. Yippeee no more worries of the nipple falling off. I am still going to do dressing for my nipple for 2 weeks, rest life has slowly started getting back to normal :”)

Just pictures of us spending the last teaching day of the academic year with a rambunctious SY class.

They were loud and noisy. They all dressed like brides for a silly class picture. They dictated the dress code to their faculty. They wrote a class test while coyly adjusting saree pallus with the panache of Hindi film heroines.

They paired sarees and salwar kameezes with sneakers, because they are congenital commitment phobes. They cheered for themselves endlessly through the picture-taking, and used their poor department faculty as props in multiple photographs.

It was all quite shameful, frankly, but they all looked quite pleased with themselves. #kalyug is upon us, evidently.

Special thanks to @omeeshapaul for generously taking pictures as usual and making classmates look more presentable than they actually were.

This is a wasted post since Harsh Doshi (@kisbaatkadoshi) has left @sophiacollegebmm and then Instagram for loftier pursuits.

Both departures have been a shame, because he is indeed a fine and committed teacher.

And, as a courteous (albeit jilted) department, we are compelled to express our gratitude to him for conducting a long and fruitful session last weekend with our SYBA(SCJ) students, as part of their Contemporary Issues paper, about the structure of the Indian economy and how to read key economic indicators.

In a session that lasted for three hours, Harsh took them through a series of charts, graphs, and other data to explain the health of our economy and important economic concepts they should be aware of.

Thank you Harsh, for making the time to disabuse our students of the belief that economics is irrelevant to a media student. Come back and teach them some more, and while you're at it, get back on Instagram!

A teacher and his students bid fond farewell to twelve weeks and 25 sessions of the Advanced Film Appreciation Programme, a value-added course that is in its fourth iteration over the last three years.

An intense journey of working together and reading cinematic texts from around the world, the course was conceived to give students interested in screen writing, storytelling and filmmaking, the chance to hone a critical framework within which to understand a selection of films.

@kuntal_bhogilal, our resident cinema guru, and mentor to the fifteen participants, came out of the programme fulfilled; the students with stars in their eyes, never having imagined that education could be engaging, intimate, analytical and emotional.

Special thanks to @_anhata for diligently helping coordinate every single session of the course, and making things work between a demanding academic schedule, a single-minded teacher, and a maddeningly difficult department.
