This past year was personal. Becoming a mom changed the trajectory of my life overnight. Suddenly I had a little person to provide for. Someone who was looking to me for everything. And life got a lot more serious, a lot more quickly. When I decided to go on this journey of nursing, I had no idea what to expect. The journey was full of many highs and many many lows. There were plenty of times where I thought I wasn’t going to make it but my son and my village kept me going.

And please don’t even get me started on my village! They held me together and gave me encouragement when I needed it most. They supported me financially, mentally, and physically. They were my unwilling patients, enduring multiple assessments and pretend psych evaluations. They babysat my son for free while I took classes and worked whatever odd jobs I could to make money. This accomplishment is as much mine as it is theirs.

Throughout it all none of this would have been possible without God. I would not have made it if he had not kept me steady throughout this journey.
All the late nights and early mornings paid off. The self-doubt, uncertainty and tears were worth it. The missing out on events, hanging out with friends, and going outside was worth it. This wasn’t easy by any means but it was worth it.

This past year was personal.

You can now refer to me as Deborah-Janay Woods, LPN.

Who else started their day off with putting in some time for themselves? In order for you to be at your best at whatever you do and for all of those that depend on you, you must take care of you and pour into you first and foremost. Have a blessed 🙏 day. #gratitude #athomework #fitnessover55

🎙️ “It’s Money Monday, and I’ve found that wealth isn’t just about dollars in the bank. For me, it’s about cultivating young men and teaching them the value of consistency—starting with their grooming.

Sound grooming is more than just appearance; it’s discipline, confidence, and finding peace in your own unique look. When you look good, you feel good—and when you feel good, you move differently.

Invest in yourself. It’s the most valuable lesson I’ve learned—and the most important one I love passing down. Let’s build from the inside out.”
