HAPPY TWO YEAR ANNIVERSARY! We have been open for two years now!

We opened in October of 2024, on the Friday before Atlanta Pride. Opening had been pushed out several times at that point, but after a week of 16 hour days, I managed to open for Pride weekend. I'm glad I pushed for it now, because it gives me the BEST anniversary :)

A huge thank you to everyone who has ever come in, we couldn't have survived without your support! We look forward to spreading queer joy and queer stories for many many more years to come!

Good afternoon, book lovers and bookish bats! September rushed by us, huh? I somehow managed to read quite a lot but not enough. Without further ado, here's my September reading recap! 🦇

Empire - Sabaa Tahir: Heir was such an unexpected return to the world of The Ember in the Ashes, but Empire? Empire made the wild ride of it all perfectly bittersweet (also, I was panicking from the BEGINNING of Heir about what I knew would get touched on at the END of Empire and it was PERFECT).

Mortal Things - Marie Lu: Give me every second of the lush, atmospheric magic Marie Lu brings us.

The Gryphon King - Sara Omer: I've been wanting to get my hands on this duology for months and IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. Sara Omer is a new fave.

Villain Edit - Rosie Danan - For a paranormal romance, every moment of Villain Edit was perfectly, delicately human.

Weavingshaw - Heba Al-Wasity - WTF why aren't we still talking about this book?! I purchased a copy IMMEDIATELY because it was everything I wanted in a gothic slow burn AND MORE.

Seeing Other People - Emily Wibberley + Austin Siegemund-Broka: Stayed up until 3am to finish reading this in one sitting and edning up bawling into a pillow. Worth it.

📣 Calling all Fantasy Readers! 📣

I am not going to stop yelling about this book. It is EXCELLENT. While I think everyone should read this book, it is a MUST-READ for all fantasy readers. Unique magic, beautiful world-building, vicious beasties - this book has everything that makes fantasy so fantastic..!!

📕 The first book of a trilogy, 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝘆𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗻 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗴 is a phenomenal debut book by @omersarae. 📘 two, 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗽𝘆 𝗞𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁, comes out this summer! 👥 The book is multi-POV and follows several characters from childhood to adulthood, one becoming a warlord, another a knight (on a team with all bad ass women), with another important POV presented at the end.

🤩 I was captivated by the scenery, from the rural steppes to the walled off cities. The magical beasties are unique and unforgiving. The character building is fun and lots of growth (and room for more)!
I am not going to shut up about this book for a while, and I cannot emphasize enough how good it was. ❣️ And for those who struggle with fantasy, the beautiful world-building isn’t so intense that it is hard to follow. Omer writes in a way that makes it easy to read, flowing with the story and incorporating world-building with every chapter and expanding to build off the knowledge you’ve gained.

✨I recommend this for all fans of fantasy, badass lady knights, romance mysteries, and djinn magic.✨
