March was a month filled with so many meaningful moments. We made sure to Make Room for all of them 👯‍♀️💚

Filling @shopberriez with some of our fav plus size sources, we knew it was the perfect link up.

Berriez is a curated boutique carrying sizes XS-6X. Started with the issue of not being able to shop plus size in many, many retailers + thrift shoppes. @ezaks changed the game when she opened these doors 🫐🍓💚👯‍♀️

A safe space for the fashionista thats also the sustainable baddie. A safe space that promises that you can find your size in the coolest + prettiest pieces no matter what.

Started March off Making Room at @shopberriez w/ @by.network💚.

Being born a fat girly, im not new to the obstacles of shopping. Working retail for 9 years, I was able to learn that there is a section for me, its just always going to be in the back corner of the store. I am segregated for being fat.

When I got introduced to @shopberriez in September, I knew this was a place made for me + womxn who look like me. I knew this was a safe space & I knew I was leaving with quality pieces. Thanks to @ezaks sourcing and curation🫂.

One night in September, I yapped @nerdlikejazzy ‘s ear off about my awakening from an impactful convo I had with a man who intentionally works with a company that makes extended sizing. In October, I had another yap session about how I wanted to activate for Women’s Month & she pushed my pen.

Told me make a deck & pitch it to her at @tts.agency 💚.

In my thoughts, journals, and eventually my deck, I knew exactly who I wanted to be apart of this moment. 10 women who I adore seeing do their big one every chance they get.

I hosted a private shopping experience for these women to come shop in a space they felt seen + safe in. A true third space to just exist and not worry about not finding their size. A space they’re comfortable in.

Everyone was provided a $100 gift card thx to @tts.agency, a @paintedblackstudios glass to sip some @drinkwynk out of, and a heartwarming cookie from @eatgoodnyc 💚🫂✨.

To the women who showed up, thank you from the bottom of my heart for accepting my invite. You ladies are stunning and so unapologetically you, the shimmer reigns on us all. Please dont ever stop shining.

@ezaks thank YOU for your hospitality & for being down to partner with me on this. It meanssoooo much more than you know. The ladies cannot stop raving about you + the space!

@nerdlikejazzy muva, thank you believing me. You provide me such assurance by just hearing me & guiding me to take one step further. From an idea to reality. You mean so much to me & I am so blessed to have you in my life. I love you. 💚

Semilla is more than a coffee shop and multifunctional space. Its a passion project. Incorporating their LLC in 2018, Semilla has grown into the neighborhood living room.

When we recorded The (RE)-Source, @omghellosimone got to sit with @semillahftd owners to ask about the journey and the background of Semilla Cafe + Studio.

During production, @seektherapynow & @mothers_moss were hosting a Mothers Day event. While there was a DJ spinning. While people were playing and conversing over @SeekTherapyNow card names.

So much motion. So much love. So much community. On a Sunday morning at noon.

On April 30th, I got to participate in something that I have had on my business since 2017.

The (RE)-source is a concept that stemmed from growing up watching MTV Cribs, from @archdigest @architectanddesign, to HGTV, Dinners, Drive-In’s, and Dines (@guyfieri) on Food Network, and currently, @enesyilmazer on YT.

Paying attention to the smallest details of the interior design, the feel of the space, the energy that fills the space, the people who would love to be in the space.. Its all important. Its all important to take note of. Its all important to share with others.

In Connecticut, I feel like there isnt much to do. Or so we grew up thinking. We live in such a small state and never know where to go or what to do. & I’ve had just about enough😭.

The (RE)-source is the visual series that sourced you, so you can function.

@semillahtfd is a community living room. Its a space of life, love, coffee, yoga, dj sets, laughs, meetings, records, reunions, celebrations, and so much more.
