I HAVE PERMISSION TO...

let my chimp out for some exercise sometimes! (CF The Chimp Paradox by Dr. Steve Peters)

Thanks to @omigates for finding this amazing book! I love the entertaining way it explains why we all react in situations and how to manage those reactions. I'd recommend it to everyone! If you don't know it, and are interested in why you and others (kids included) behave as they do, it's easy to find stuff about it on Google.

My chimp brain usually gets exercise when she's watching the news....🙊

When does your chimp have a rant?!

Hi friends!! We’re heading into the last week of September and for many of us, this means only one thing: @inktober is almost here!!! 🖊

The coming week we’ll be reviewing some of the pen and ink techniques we’ve covered over the last few years, as a prep for the upcoming month!! Today’s amazing study notes were put together by the talented @omigates, our beautiful friend and co-creator of the account!! ❤️❤️

The slides are pretty self explanatory and show a wonderful array of techniques to try. Will you give it a go?

We would like to invite you to get out your pens, ink and paper and start drawing!! Digital ink is also a very welcome option. Share your creations with us at #pen_ink_review and tag us @show_your_canvas @raven_avana and @maxiedee_art !!

We’d love to hear from you!! Are you joining @inktober this year? For all the prompts? For just a few? Or not at all?? Either way, we’d be happy to see your inky doodles and creations!!
Also, what is your preferred pen and ink medium? Art pens? A fountain pen? Dip pens and ink? Let us know!

Happy drawing! 💖~ Raven

I’m so excited to share my post for the gorgeous #sierranevadashawl by @life_is_cozy!! I knitted this wonderful, lightweight wrap for my beautiful friend @omigates!! I can finally post some pictures, as she received my parcel yesterday (I didn’t want to ruin the surprise 😉)

This one’s just for you, dear Omi 💖 Every second knitting, I thought of you (and counting stitches 😜) love you!!!

For anyone looking to knit an exceptional and delicate piece, this is your pattern!! I cannot recommend it enough. It’s light, and soft, and flowing!! Check @life_is_cozy’s account for the pattern details!!

Thank you, @maxiedee_art, for the inspirational topic!

The Porch - front view

⭐️ Draw what you love! ⭐️
This is the art tip I would give to my younger self.

I have picked up drawing and painting again over the last year and a half, and one of the things that helps me stay motivated and gets me in the flow, is to draw what I love. Sam is the star of most of my work, as you probably all know 😉 and lately, the garden. When you draw the things, people and animals you love, your heart will be in it. Your work will keep improving and you will have the best time creating art!

What art tip would you give yourself?
We’re sharing tips at @share_your_canvas #syc_iwishiknew #syctips

Thank you @omigates for this amazing topic.

Day 7: Camellia Sinensis - Tea Plant
For #syc_doodles @share_your_canvas

We recently acquired a tea plant. We already collected some tea leaves and they make delicious tea after an elaborate fermentation process. We put a chair right next to the little bush to watch those fresh new leaves come in 😉

Day 5: Himalayan Rhododendron
a Doodle a Day for #syc_doodles @share_your_canvas

This gorgeous flower is stunning in full bloom. The Himalayan variety has fuzzy undersides to her leaves and even blooms in shady corders of the garden. 🌺
