CTW Celebrates the Commitment and Progress of AC Transit’s PIA Peer Mentor Program CTW is proud to recognize the continued progress of AC Transit’s Progress in Action(PIA) Peer Mentor Program and the dedicated team working to make it a success. On October 19, 2026, CTW representatives Sue Yates and Robert Hannibal met at the AC Transit TEC Center with Kay Avognon, Operator Peer Mentor Coordinator; Gustavo Vasquez, Maintenance Guide Coordinator; James Jackson, ATU 192 Assistant Business Agent; and Mike Flocchini, Director of Training and Workforce Development. The group shared updates on the Operations and Maintenance programs and discussed the ongoing efforts to strengthen the PIA initiative. The conversation showcased a team that is committed to its mentors, invested in its mentees, and focused on keeping the program moving forward. Through continued communication, collaboration, and mentor involvement, the PIA team is working to ensure that both programs remain strong and responsive to the needs of their participants. A great example of this commitment was the mentor meeting held on Saturday, October 17, which brought together more than 20 mentors. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss current challenges, exchange ideas, and explore ways to support mentees more effectively. ATU 192 Assistant Business Agent James Jackson joined the discussion, along with an EAP representative who shared information and spoke with mentors on several important subjects. The team is also working on a PIA logo, an exciting step toward building a stronger identity for the program and bringing its participants together under a shared vision. CTW applauds the PIA team, its coordinators, and all the mentors who continue to dedicate their time and energy to this important initiative. The commitment demonstrated by both the Operations and Maintenance programs is something to celebrate. Their hard work and collaborative spirit are helping build a strong foundation for continued growth and success.

The Hidden Transit Center ------ Yucaipa Transit Center: the smallest transit center yet at its peak was once a regional hub in southeast San Bernardino county to a suburban layover for the OmniTrans 19 and 319 services. In the early 2010s its seen service from the 8 which was later shortened to terminate at the nearby Crafton Hills College and the 9 which saw it's elimination in the same time, afterwards the 19 was extended from downtown Redlands via the 9 all the way to Yucaipa. The 319 was once a plethora of many (former) "OmniGo" routes: The 308, 309 and 310, these routes were... overcomplicating to navigate to say the least. (Not entirely sure but apparently [the] Riverside Transit Agency serviced Yucaipa Transit Center with the former 36-Redlands to Beaumont service???) Now fast forward to 2026 and there's 2 routes in a glorified transfer point yet a dilemma of a nearby route: Beaumont Transit Commuter Express 125 which is currently facing a proposed elimination due the possibility of the 120 replacing it at Redlands Mall but why eliminate it when there's a potential to cut travel times between Yucaipa and Pass cities rather than riding down west to go east(???) make it make sense... ANYWHO! here are pics for one of my top 3 transit centers in San Bernardino county- ENJOY ----- 📍 Yucaipa Transit Center

Our seniors have spent a lifetime building and strengthening our communities. We wanted to create a day just for them. 💛🎬🍿 Our first-ever Silver Screens & Service brought seniors from across the Inland Empire together to connect with community resources, spend time with friends and neighbors, and settle into a cozy theater seat for a great movie. I’m so grateful to Chancellor Diana Rodriguez and the San Bernardino Community College District, Connie Leyva and the team at KVCR, and all of the incredible community partners who helped us make this day possible. And judging by the smiles, laughter and wonderful feedback we received… I think we’ll have to do it again next year. 😉🎥 📸 Event photos can be found on our website (link in bio) Thank you to everyone who joined us! 🙏 @sbccdcolleges @kvcrpublicmedia @rep.peteaguilar @cadeptofinsurance @kpsanbernardino @lifting_humanity @omnitrans @sachealth @sbcountyhs @sbcountydph @sce @socalgas @supervisorbaca @mywvwd @wiseandhealthyaging @youngvisionariespage @att @cinemark @arrowheadmedcenter @iehp_healthcare @sjhealthca @rialto_njrotc @sunrisesrliving @asmjamesramos
