21 years of widowhood.

Greatest lesson: God is the husband of the widow. If I had known how my family would turn out, I wouldn’t have worried so much about our future.

Greatest blessing: The love and support of family and friends. It has been profound and constant.

Greatest regret: Not remarrying.

Greatest advice to young widows: Ditch the entitlement. Nobody owes you anything. Plan your future as if you are alone with your children because you are alone with your children. When you need to ask for help, ask nicely, show gratitude and be accountable. I’ll write more about this and other lessons later.
