Today is an anniversary! It's the anniversary of my first content shoot with my very first collection! Time fliesssssss....like a pterodactyl carrying you through the sky.

I actually got a little misty eyed thinking back on what this means to me. I worked with filmmaker/photographer @rggatica, MUA @wamart1965, models Aicha Bassoum & @onealwyche & my righthand, @g_gordonoscar....it was the hottest day of the year...well over 100 degrees....and we were shooting outside at Prospect Park & spots in Bed Stuy! The fear I had of someone getting heatstroke was overwhelming! It was super hot, the car battery died at one point, we all wilted...but we all also showed up with 100% love, patience, openness & passion...and we got it done.

I'm sooooooo grateful for these memories...they chart my path to where I am today. And today, I'm waiting to see myself on the premiere of @projectrunway, readying for the upcoming market, & about to announce another nugget of good news. It's verrryyyyy tough y'all, not gonna lie....this business is not for the faint of heart....you question yourself WHYYYYYY more than anything else. But it's grace, passion, sheer stubbornness, and all the amazing people around me that keep me going. ONWARD.

NYC photo dump. What a week! I launched a book! Visited the Lilian Vernon house @nyucreativewriting where I did my poetry MFA to take photos awkwardly on the stoop! Ate too much! Saw so many friends! Walked 20k steps every day! Saw my debut novel on so many shelves! Revisited my old neighborhood and felt such wounding nostalgia (well, one of them anyways. Couldn’t make it to Bedstuy or 148th this trip, next time! )

Thank you to everyone who has made this trip so magical. Hopefully see u soon, beloved friends, city and strangers. Until then, I’m going to make the absolute most of my last full day here 💕
