POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

One thing Staci and I talk about, a lot, is the importance of collaboration. Baton Rouge is filled with community organizations and individuals who are doing great work. We often reach out to other organizations for assistance and client referrals. We are so grateful for the partnerships we have formed over the years.

As we continue to grow, we hope to have the opportunity to work with even more organizations and create a network that is dedicated to improving the community of Baton Rouge.

We look forward to working with you, and we appreciate all of the partners we’ve had the pleasure to work with so far.

Be well,

Thank you to everyone who joined us last Friday for the Baton Rouge reception of Picture the Power Vol. II: COUNTED presented by @powercoej

A special thank you to our artists, community partners, and everyone who continues to believe in the power of art to tell our stories and keep us connected. 🫶🏾

Haven’t made it to the gallery yet? There’s still time to get counted! 👀 You can experience Picture the Power Vol. II: COUNTED at the Cary Saurage Community Arts Center through December 4.

Come spend some time with these powerful images, sit with the stories they tell, and leave with a little something to carry into your community.

The photographs may hang on the walls, but the conversations don’t stop here. 💫

📸 @ingridnacolephotography thank you for beautifully capturing this journey for us 💐

Just another Tuesday at OneBReath Boutique! Today we sorted through some baby food and formula, pulled the “expiring soon” items to the front and packed up the “expiring really soon” items to go to the Baton Rouge Community Fridge. Put out the diaper orders, and planned for Thursday’s Boutique day. Stopped by the Community Fridge to stock the formula. Make sure to stop by and grab some if you or someone you know can use it. Like and share this post to help with engagement. Much appreciated! 🩷🩷🩷 - Nurse Nikky

An origin story, continued…

Today I passed by the first apartment I lived in after being without a place to call home. I hadn’t been in a while and almost couldn’t find it. Twenty six years have gone by since I lived at 4747 Annette Street. Twenty two year old Nicole couldn’t even imagine what would happen over the next couple decades. 🥹

I didn’t have much. I remember putting my son in my secondhand stroller and walking to the store to buy a pack of ramen noodles and a 4-pack of cookies with whatever change I could find. Sometimes I came up short and the person at the counter would push the items toward me and wave me off. If I had an extra quarter I would use the pay phone to make whatever phone calls I needed to make. Then we would hurry back inside our little home.

As I got my stuff together, a house phone, a job, food in the fridge, a decent mattress… I was so grateful.

If I can come this far in 20 years… imagine me in 20 more.
