“People often see a wheelchair and think of limitation. But, for Bri, it’s her wings. I wanted to design a garment that honors that—her flight, her strength, her profound beauty.” Working with @ashlynnewyork was a dream. The first thing she said to me when we were paired together was I want to know your story, about your community, I want to learn. Rather than projecting her ideas of fashion onto my body, she wanted our collaboration to be a dance between her incredible designs and my lived experience.

“The left shoulder is bare—a quiet stage for her dove tattoo, and for her story.” My dove tattoo on my left shoulder honors my mama and her favorite song, “I’m like a bird,” as a way to carry her with me everywhere I go. And as I’ve grown older, it also represents freedom, power, and beauty. Like a soaring dove, my wheelchair glides me through this world.

Being a part of this project was immensely meaningful and special but even more so because I was doing it alongside absolute icons and powerhouses of the disabled community. The room on the final day was filled with so much light and love. It is clear how much our community supports each other even in a competition.

Thank you to @tiltingthelens @voguemagazine @cfda @tommyhilfiger for celebrating the disability community in this challenge and for having me, it was truly an honor.

As we look back on this year, there’s so much to be grateful for - & here’s a little reflection on some of our favourite moments.

As 2025 comes to a close, we’re dreaming ahead for 2026: a new studio space in Brighton you can visit and shop in person, more secondhand pieces finding new homes, more in-house creations - made with intention and love, and so much more.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for supporting Curate & Rotate - It means the world, especially as I navigate being a new mama all over again while running a business.
