March was a wild one! My good pal @onehellofatown and I worked together to create a demo off of an upcoming album project we’re working on! The track, called Floating, was then pressed into a Flexi-Disc record!

I had five days to write, record and produce the song, and not to toot my own horn, but TOOT TOOT I think it sounds pretty darn good.

Massive shoutout to @yuth_decay_ , who was kind enough to lend her immense vocal talents to this track, recording at night in my car with a Scarlett and SM58! Also shoutout to @tommyhopkinson for his killer fills, @angelojcerbone04 for his sick guitar solo, and @yung_bergy for the sax that ties the whole thing together!!

But what do you think? 🤨

I’ve never been a Volvo guy, but I’ve always appreciated them from afar. I went to look at this 1985 Volvo 240 DL Wagon last weekend and see what it was like. If I ever wanted to get one, it would probably look like the one in the first picture (a different example from BaT; plate and stickers added in Photoshop, close-ups later in the gallery).

Reality was a little different. The one I went to see had 231k miles, dry-rotted tires from 2005 with over 35k miles on them, murky ownership and repair history, a replaced engine, an unexplained accident, a bit of rust, worn suspension, broken A/C, broken fan, broken radio, broken shifter, broken lights, broken door locks, broken seat controls, etc. It had also failed smog, had overdue DMV back fees, and the title wasn’t even in the seller’s name. Just about the only thing it had going for it was the color, Medium Blue (213).

On our test drive, one of the tires went completely flat and we had to walk a mile back in the desert heat. The seller, who was extremely apologetic, offered it to me for $1500. If I had absolutely no other projects going on, I might have taken it simply for the thrill of breathing new life back into the thing… but the timing wasn’t right.

The seller said he’d bought it a year and a half ago as a car he could “run into the ground”… I think I literally did that for him. 🛞🛞🛞🔘

The last few photos are of an ‘84 that belongs to IKEA and is on permanent display at their Burbank store. It’s Scotia Blue (139), which is a lighter shade. 🇸🇪📦📦📦
