“Een gezellige Engelstalig boekhandel | Bookshop hopping #3 📚✨ | One More Chapter”

📚 August Haul 📚

These are the things I bought when I went bookshopping with Anniek @anniekslibrary! Most of these were recommended by them. So I'm really looking forward to dive into these stories! ☺️

"Garlic & the Vampire" and "Reel" are two very different books. I bought them both at the bookstore One More Chapter. My TBR for this year is pretty set in stone, but I would love to read "Reel" next year! "Garlic & the Vampire" will be a nice read for days when I'm more feeling anxious.

I'm still so giddy about the sticker vending machine and I need that in my own house STAT! Especially with those gorgeous designs by Romy. Maybe it's for the better that I don't have a sticker vending machine at my local bookstores, because I would keep getting new ones 😂

"Bad Queer" is a story written in verse, which if you know me a bit, you'll know I looove. I just love the poetic nature of verse novels, which I also hope to perfect one day. Anniek showed it to me and after reading the synopsis, I knew I had to buy it. The book sounds right up my alley! Can't wait!

I bought "El ladrón del rayo" (The Lightning Thief) and "Queer: A Graphic History" were both Secondhand finds at Van der Velden. I was so impressed with their secondhand collection and I hope to go there again to get more gems.

I will be back at these bookstores. Hopefully it won't be too long! 🥰

📖 Workshop linocut 📖

Eerst even samen eten en daarna gingen we naar One More Chapter.

♡ Bookstores in Groningen ♡

Last week, I spent a day with my lovely friend Anniek (@anniekslibrary)! They were my bookstore tour guide and showed me some of their favorite bookstores in Groningen!
We visited a relatively new small bookstore: One More Chapter. They have a vending vending machine in their store! What?! It's the same type of machine where you can turn a lever and it gives you a ball with something small in it. However, in this case you get either a sticker or a sticker sheet! I secretly hoped to get the ducks sticker sheet, but these flowers are gorgeous, so I'm very pleased!
The "You got this" sticker was a sign from the universe, I'm sure.

We then went to Walter's, Riemer book cafe, and Van der Velde. All of which were amazing bookstores.
I hope to visit again soon, because I enjoyed myself thoroughly!
Thank you to Anniek for joining me on this book adventure❤️

Stay tuned for the bookhaul in my next post!

Honestly, if you'd told me a year ago that my book would be featured in a bookshop, I probably would've laughed and cried at the same time.

Isn't this what every author dreams of? Seeing your book sitting in a cozy little bookshop, surrounded by all the books you'd fill your (sadly non-existent) Belle library with.

So, if you're in or around Groningen in the next 3 months—or planning a visit—go check out this lovely shop! And if you spot When the Moon Shines Brightest, snap a picture, tag me, and you'll enter into a surprise giveaway to receive some bookish goodies.

Let's celebrate this moment together! 💜
