I’ve spent 15+ years in tech, so I’m probably not the easiest person to sell on something I can’t measure. A few years ago, @anna.nosok got much deeper into meditation and different inner practices. I was skeptical. I tried some of them with her, especially during the first days of the war, and honestly they helped me a lot. That created a weird conflict for me. I could feel that something was happening. Sometimes the effect was obvious. But another part of my brain kept asking: is this actually doing anything, or am I just sitting here for 20 minutes? So I would practice for a while, then stop. Come back to it, then stop again. And I remember thinking more than once: if I could just see some kind of feedback not a magical score, not “your meditation was 93% successful” just something showing me that my state was actually changing, I would probably understand the process very differently. Eventually I started looking into whether that was even possible. That led me to wearable EEG. And then to a fairly obvious question for an engineer: what if you combine it with meditation? What if you could practice anywhere, measure what is happening during the session, compare sessions over time, and have something besides your subjective feeling to work with? That idea became one of the foundations of @onergy.app For the last year and a half I’ve been going much deeper into EEG, neurofeedback and brain feedback and the more I learn, the more careful I am about what these technologies can and cannot tell us. I’m still a skeptic, which I actually think is useful here. I don’t want technology to tell people what they “felt.” I want to understand whether it can give us an additional signal something measurable next to the subjective experience. That’s the part I find interesting. And I’m finally going to start sharing more of what we’re building and what I’m learning along the way.

We’ve been together for 21 years. I believe in energy. He believes in science. So naturally, we built @onergy.app together. 😅 Because somewhere between my “I can feel the difference” and his “show me the data,” we became obsessed with one question: What is actually happening in our brain during meditation, breathwork, and other practices we use to change how we feel? ONERGY is our way of making the invisible visible — using real brain data to see how different practices affect our state. 21 years together, three kids, completely different ways of looking at the world… and somehow, that difference became a product. 🤍

The world has always been this incredible. Maybe what we really need isn’t a different planet. Maybe we just need a different state of mind. That’s why we’re building @onergy.app
