Our second to last artist to highlight is Mariana Varela!

A Mexican artist based in the San Francisco Bay Area whose practice centers on ceramics extending into photography and illustration. Her sculptural work exists within magical realism, where flowers, animals, humans, and fantastical beings become metaphors for thoughts, emotions, and lived experiences. Varela explores love, chronic illness, nostalgia, migration, and time, inviting viewers to build their own narratives through symbolism, storytelling, and imaginative forms.
