Unhealthy meal-skipping, sleep-depriving, and soul-crushing as the lifestyle was, Berklee was a lot of fun and opened my mind to so much music. More than I thought I was capable of. After graduating I still have a year's worth of work to share with everyone, and I'm also now adjusting to a new city (Seoul) after moving halfway across the world.

That being said, I'm officially going on break for a year from intensive music making.

I'll still be publishing works from the past year and working on projects already in motion now. But I've decided to take a step back from a lifestyle that has been slowly eroding my being for a few years now and prioritize a different part of my life for now.

I'll be back after a year to return to music professionally. Thank you to those who have supported me so far!

Big thanks to @teechindasook for booking & engineering 🎛️

What an incredible way to end my time at Berklee! The Contemporary Writing & Production major unfortunately doesn't have a final showcase or performance built into the curriculum, so I decided to take things into my own hands and invited people to listen to my music in the studio. To my surprise, dozens of people came amidst their busy schedules to see what I've been up to the past few years. And so I presented a showcase of all my major works at Berklee and even played some piano.

I wanted to thank each and everyone who showed up--these past years, I've gradually built an online audience for my work, but nothing can compare to live humans together in a room. I still can't believe everyone stayed until the end past 1am, even when you had class or work early the next morning. Many of you had worked and collaborated with me on these very projects, and many of you I look to as inspiration for my own musical journey. Music is such a collaborative, relationship-building force and I'm thankful it brought us all together.

You've all made a precious memory for me that encourages me to keep learning, making music, and finding joy along the way.

Sorry, Dr. @jacobcollier, that your grand entrance that you and I tweaked 30 minutes before the show’s downbeat in the green room didn’t quite happen as planned. You still made it so organic and impactful for our audience, for which I am grateful. You are not only a true musical genius, but are amazing human being. The impression that I had for you when I first met you briefly in 2015 had never changed 11 years later. You are the music itself.

Working for this concert as a Co-Musical Director/Arranging Supervisor for this show @berkleecollege was extremely challenging because of the crazy deadline and the complexity of the music. We pretty much had just a few weeks to arrange, rehearse and execute your music for 30-40 minutes segment of the show. And we also had just the same amount of time to prepare for the other challenging (yet beautiful) music by Dr. @vinniecolaiuta and Dr. @missjillscott to complete the set. I still don’t know how we did it, but it for sure was a team effort. I am thankful to be a part of this amazingly talented production team.

I learned a lot by going through your music so deeply towards this concert. Reorchestrating your crazy works was so challenging, but rewarding and refreshing. I’m not a genius. But I’m simply glad that I was able to jump as high as you can, despite my age. 😆

Amazing photos by @mcparkos, @rosequeenphoto and @elizabethfriarphoto . You three are seriously talented!
