This took me some time to write… because this feeling is all too familiar. I feel like I’ve lost another dad. 💔

Rashan and I are more than friends…we are sisters. My heart hurts for her in a way that’s hard to put into words. I know the pain of losing someone so important, especially a father. I’m praying that Rashan, Colin, and Mama G feel surrounded by love, strength, and comfort during this difficult time. ❤️

Some people touch your life in a way words can’t fully explain. Coach “Buck” Godfrey was that kind of person. He was a legendary coach to many, but to me and my brother, he was family. A father figure, a mentor, and a real man’s man. He kept it real with us…no sugarcoating, no pretending, just Buck being Buck. IYKYK! 🤭

Coach Buck played a major role in my brother - Lee Dixon, life. The impact he had, the lessons he taught, and the man he helped shape will never be forgotten.

Coach, thank you for loving, teaching, challenging, encouraging, and believing in so many young people. Your legacy goes far beyond football. It lives in the lives you changed and the people who carry a piece of you.

To my sister @rashanali , I love you beyond words. I tell you every time we talk! 😊 I’m praying for you, your family, and everyone blessed to know your dad.

Coach Buck is forever loved, forever respected, and forever remembered by the Dixon family.

Rest well, Coach.
Your legacy lives on.

20 years ago today, Yung Joc his first debut album released💽"New Joc City" on June 6th, 2006 by Bad Boy South, Block Entertainment, and Atlantic Records. Production was handled by Diddy, Nitti, Blac Elvis, Deezle, DJ Dana, Milwaukee Black, Chris Flame, Chino Dolla, and Los Vegas. Upon its release, the album debuted at number 3 on the US Billboard 200, with 150,000 copies sold in the first week. In its second week, the album dropped to number 9, with 70,000 copies sold. As of August 11th, 2006, the album became a certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), selling 500,000 copies in the United States.

As a longtime member of Atlanta's hip-hop community, Yung Joc watched his neighbor Jeezy blow up while he waited on the sidelines. Bad Boy South CEO Diddy watched from a different angle since his label was home to Jeezy's first group, Boyz N da Hood, and yet he lost the boy to Def Jam. There's no doubt Jeezy's style and success were major influences on Joc's Bad Boy South debut, New Joc City. Put the Bad Boy polish to the two albums and you're close to New Joc City, although the club tracks here are much more hooky, pleasingly more slick. "It's Goin' Down" with Nitti is the key track, a simple, familiar-sounding bit of Southern weekend music that withstands numerous replays. The rowdy "Do Ya Bad" and "I Know You See It" are more of the same, while "Hear Me Coming" goes in a different direction and borrows G-Unit's attitude and production style. #ItsGoinDown20 #NewJocCity20
