It’s taken me some time for me to do a farewell post to football but here it is and it’s a lot

As I write this it feel like yesterday when I was being told I was being brought up to varsity as a freshman, the fear and excitement I had was something I’ve never felt before and over the 4 years I never really got over the nerves because every game was going to be a different challenge in some form or way. it’s going to especially be hard to let go of football because of the memories I’ve made. like yea I remember my first varsity tackle I had (the funny thing was I wasn’t even on defensive I ran over to tackle the guy that got the interception). like I still remember getting pancaked by David or Linwood (happened more then once) my freshman year and all I could do while it was happening was laugh the problem with sports is that sometimes people take it to seriously and can’t enjoy the sport like I still remember in Waterloo my jr year we just got out of the timeout and they were playing music and of course it was a song I knew so as I’m getting into my stance I’m singing we didn’t start the fire by billy Joel and I actually sacked the qb on that play and I’m sure I made that left tackle mad I was singing but I was just enjoying the game. I’ll always remember being called double nickel or the big plays I had or big games I had like the 14 tackles In a game but my favorite memories I had were the ones I was laughing in. So as I look back through the seasons of football I’d just like to thank my teammates and coaches that made me the player I was today and helping me be named a captain and get my second class c 2nd team all star section. If any of you got through reading all this weather it’s life or sports always remember to have fun. Double nickel out❤️
