I❤️KG.

Never miss a New York residency, @kinggizzard always saves the special sauce for them. From the first night finding surprising beauty in persistent rain to the last night drawing the hardest head banging and ass throwing from the crowd, and every smiling face at the meetups in between, giddy over the last night and anxious for the next…yeah, this was one hell of a way to recover from post-Field of Vision sadness and close out a short but sweet tour!

And as always, none of this would be as magical for me without you, without the Swarm. My beloved Weirdos! Crazy how there’s King Gizzard at our family reunions every year! How are they doing that?? 🤭🥰💖

it's been one year of GeeseZine! since then we've passed out hundreds (thousands?) of zines, brought opportunities to photographers and artists, had so much fun, and listened to a lot of Geese. and we're not stopping!!!!!

another year of hiphop is marching on, and with it we’ve got some CRAZY lyrics already this year… 😭

this year we’ve seen an influx of some of the most out of pocket bars that are just blatantly insane and super funny. i love making these posts every year because it’s through these bars that you’re able to find some of the most creativity in the genre, and we see it a ton already this year

lil yachty’s tyler robinson bar has to come first as that came off a song with action bronson. shoutout to @onlygonstreet (austin feno) for taking the photo of him we used in the cover. ye’s got himself a genghis khan bar, a$ap rocky has one on “don’t be dumb,” slayr and xaviersobased and more also have been paving the way out in the underground with some wild lyrics

kuru has one of the most insane callouts in his song “u wld never do it” where he says “my lil’ bro f*ck with tung tung brainrot / i don’t get it, but i guess I’ll let him rock, though.” shoutout triple t

someone like nettspend does not shy away from admitting some of his past actions, like when he openly admitted “i still discord, so i can talk to some of my wh*res”

you already know babytron is gonna give you some every project too so we included one on his song with blp kosher, as well as some from earl sweatshirt and mike, tezzus and diamond* from oway, and more

do you enjoy these wild bars? what did we miss from 2026 so far? what’s the WILDEST bar on our list?

you guys loved the last version of this post that we did so we wanted to bring up some more numbers that show some insane storylines over the years

@nicky_jules took the young thug photo in the cover as well, and
@onlygonstreet (austin feno) took the lil yachty photo on slide 18) 🫡

monthly listeners truly are such an interesting number to take a look at. while at times they can be inflated due to features or various other factors, sometime they tell some really interesting stories related to artists’ rises, falls, or even plateaus

one crazy one here that we could have never seen coming was the nearly 32% increase for lil uzi vert… he had a fantastic end to 2025 and an even better start to 2026 with “what you saying”. it’s genuinely so great to see him back on top after we saw his numbers really decline and plateau after “pink tape”

underground artists are the most interesting to observe. take osamason in june 2023 and february 2025 with essentially a 6000% increase in listeners. when you see that much of a jump it’s so rewarding because that percentage represents a huge cultural influx and the spotlight is really oriented towards you

also crazy to see how real life events can directly impact the music without being the music itself. michael jackson’s recent biopic has once again landed him atop the pedestal among the worlds most listened to artists with 81 million, a 105% increase

sosocamo’s doubled his listeners really since the beginning of the year, juice wrld hit an almost near 50m listeners following his passing, drake’s returned back to the throne with nearly 90m listeners, matt proxy has blown up, the list goes on and on

do you think these statistics are a good measurement of relevance or cultural influx? what do they mean to you? any notable storylines that stand out to you? what’d we miss for a part 3?
