LA Music Bars to Sit and Yap Vinyl-only, hi-fi, and built for a long night.
Only The Wild Ones on Abbot Kinney in Venice is a vinyl-only listening bar with a speakeasy called Force of Nature upstairs. The system was built for one thing - to make records feel alive.
Gold Line in Highland Park is a dark hi-fi cocktail lounge founded by Peanut Butter Wolf of Stones Throw Records - 7,500 records on the wall, no computers, no outside vinyl, DJs and bartenders spin from the house library only.
Darling in West Hollywood is James Beard chef Sean Brock’s live-fire restaurant with an adjoining hi-fi lounge, 7 custom speakers, and 5,000
45-rpm records that don’t stop until close.
Gold-Diggers in East Hollywood started as an Ed Wood soundstage, became a Guns N’ Roses rehearsal space, then a strip club - now it’s a bar, boutique hotel, and recording studio with gilt chandeliers and dark wood chevron walls.
