Wife, Mom, Grandma, who loves her family and loves to create! I am a Maker.

$Setbacks are frustrating but they’re also opportunities to grow. I think the saying is, “grow through what you go through.” In the church we call that sanctification. Anything that makes us more like Jesus is a GOOD THING. It doesn’t make challenges easy but it does make them fruitful. We are so thankful to serve a God who doesn’t waste our pain, but uses it for our good and His glory. Asher hasn’t had a fracture since July 2022 but yesterday broke that streak (pun intended 🙃) He fractured the top of his tibia, just under his knee. Thankfully, his rod and femur look good and were not impacted. He only has to wear a soft splint for three weeks, which is helpful with the weather warming up, but is also more difficult from a pain perspective. It is not as immobilizing as a hard cast would be so it’s taking a little longer for him to get comfortable. We are called to be thankful in all circumstances (1 Thessalonians 5:18) and in our case we are SO thankful for our people. We are grateful that Grandma rearranged her whole day to watch Elijah and Bella and for Uncle JP who held down the fort until she could get there. We are also grateful for our church family who immediately lifted us up in prayer and for compassionate and competent healthcare providers. We would value any additional prayers, especially for Asher’s comfort and for all of us to get some restorative rest. 💛 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18$
