Unseen bits. #august

August was full of amazing moments, a lot of them firsts:

-Won my first race under non-red flag conditions 🏁
-Podiumed in a MotoAmerica championship 🙌
-Crewed a MotoAmerica privateer team with my dad 💪
-Enjoyed the presence of one of my favorite Canadians @klairsalter at one of my road races 🇨🇦
-Got pictures of the family (@skymike_lopez included) on pit lane 📸
-Saw the biggest(?) bobblehead in existence 🙂‍↔️
-Received my first award at work that had nothing to do with my job 🏍️
-Had my first unplanned overnight in an airport 😴
-Washed the Royal Enfield in my own driveway 🫧
-Took @dbp624 kayaking in South Carolina ☀️
-Said my final goodbyes to an awesome Grandpa 💔
-Stole and road a Zuma on the streets in PA (thanks @doug.everitt ) 🛵

Some firsts are good, some aren’t so great. But as long as you’re surrounded by the people you love, life is overall very positive. Here’s to a fantastic September!

Two out of three ain’t bad. 🤘🏁

That’s a wrap on my planned MotoAmerica Super Hooligans campaign.

Coming into this season, I honestly wasn’t sure how it was all going to go, but we made it to 2 of the 3 rounds we set out to do. Every weekend was a learning experience, and I’m grateful we got the opportunity.

Mid-Ohio was the perfect finale. We made the trip to learn a new track, experience Vintage Motorcycle Days, and soak in everything that makes that place so special. Then we capped off the weekend with both Bryanna and I getting to race. It doesn’t get much better than that.

The MotoAmerica chapter is over for this season, but we’re not done yet. We’ve still got some club races on the calendar, more seat time to get, and plenty to keep building toward.

Huge thank you to everyone who’s supported us this year—our sponsors, friends, family, and everyone cheering us on. Also, a huge thank you to @ngreco176 for the 1on1. We’ll keep pushing.

The first Flat Track European Championship. I am very grateful to be a part of it. A big thank you to @spr003 who made the short-term starting place clear.

I was actually quite satisfied with my results in the heats. I had the safe starting place in the final, in which the top 8 came, as good as certain, until it came to a stupid action in the last heat! After this action I fell and therefore had to go into the Last Chance run. In the Last Chance, when I wanted to take the lead in turn 2, the driver fell in front of me. Since I didn’t want to drive over the driver’s head, I had no other way than to drive into the barriers! In the end I reached P11 with bad pain...
The day ended in the hospital for me.

Thanks to all the doctors and paramedics who helped. A big thank you to my team @innisarracingteam as well as @jellmarkus for the team readiness. Also a big thank you to @_sane22_ for your great support on the day. Also big thanks to everyone who supported me on that day.

It’s Race Weekend! 🇵🇱

Some thoughts on this season…

There are things I can control, and there are things I can’t. Some of my frustrations are hard to even put into words.

After another abysmal qualifying session, or lack thereof, I was able to fight my way onto the podium in Race 1 on a wet track. The remaining races were pushed to Sunday.

Race 2 started strong, but it ended with a pretty gnarly get-off. My head was clipped by not one, but two riders. I’m incredibly grateful for my @kytamericas helmet and @alpinestars tech-air vest. They did exactly what they’re designed to do and allowed me to walk away from a crash that could have ended much differently.

This season’s lack of quality track time has me doing some serious thinking about 2027. For now, it’s time to regroup, get back to work, and focus on the next one.

What a race in Croatia. After difficulties at the start, as the setup for the first two runs didn’t fit, I was able to deliver much better in the last two runs. However, this put me quite far back in the Last Chance. In the end, I was able to drive back home with 3 new World Championship points. It is slowly going in the right direction.
However, since this is my first year in the World Championship and my bike is not yet technically exhausted, the result is quite okay. Small mistakes catch up with me much faster.

Hot weekend in Teterow 🥵🥵
I had three very good practices and a very good first Heat in which I was in second & third place for a long time.
In the penultimate turn, there was an unfair collision in which I almost fell off the bike and lost my top place..

I completed the last heats with severe pain and was able to drive home with 1 World Championship point. Definitely not the result I had hoped for after the first heat. All the more focused, I’m going to Croatia in two days. 🇭🇷

Staying @onthegas_ means adapting my training plans when new gaps are identified. My first win at Road America showed I have some work to do in case I find myself on the top step again. Let’s hope I get another shot at it this weekend at The Ridge! 🔥

Round 2 of the @fim_flattrack in Terenzano. 🇮🇹
A very frustrating result for me.
Really struggled with the bikes set up on Saturday.

The more so it went better for me on Sunday at the Italian Championship. We found the perfect setup for the KTM.
I entered P4, tied with @santiagoarangio on P3. Since he had defeated me in a direct battle, I had to be satisfied with P4.
I am super happy with the result from Sunday. 🙌

Unfortunately, no points in the World Championship…however, the next day, I was able to show that I can keep up if the KTM setup is right.
