After a grueling application process, essays, and a video interview, I got accepted into @thebridgeprogram_tbp.

Two weeks of growing and learning with 99 brilliant students. I told myself I wouldn’t just be there, I’d live there. I was going to be involved in everything, nominate myself, step into capacity. And when this phrase came up in a session? I was like, “That’s right.” 😂

I thought I was coming for something that would look good on my CV. Instead, I found a program that reoriented me, one that was was intentional about every aspect of our growth—personal, mental, emotional, and professional. Amazing speakers taught us everything from entrepreneurial leadership to building in Africa, needs identification, problem-solving, public speaking, and facilitating.

Reflections were also a daily ritual, helping me be in tune with myself, my feelings, my thoughts, and everything around me. And I’m especially grateful for that.

I joined the media team, one of the best decisions ever. Co-directing and editing content with the amazing @by.emb0t and our media director @chriss_agu was so rewarding. I’ll forever cherish the experience 🥹

The Ideas Festival? Incredible. With four amazing teammates— Oluwatofunmi, Abdullahi, Oluwapelumi, and Caleb—we created DoAm, a productivity management system that tackles procrastination and last-minute stress.

But beyond the rigor, the people were everything 🥹. House Emerald was like a second family. Every single one of you, from our educator, Mr Tosin, to, Odunayo, Pleasant, Michelle, Radyallah, Adelola, Embot, Al-Ameen, Joshua, Shuaib, Clinton, and Kehinde was tailored for me. I can’t wait to witness the incredible things we’ll all achieve.

These past two weeks were incredible and I can’t thank Ms Lara Rabiu @theafarainitiative and @thebridgeprogram_tbp enough❤️
