The Insanely Beautiful Iota Beta Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. would like to recognize Sis. Opal McElroy (7-IB-FA21) for graduating from USC as a part of the Class of 2023!

During her time on campus, Sis. Opal was a Research Assistant at Jakowec-Petzinger Lab for Parkinson's Disease Research, a Member of Shift SC - an ethical technology club, was a Sylas and Rose Marx Meyer Scholarship Recipient, was a member of the USC Synapse Neuroscience Club, was a Dean's List recipient for Fall 2020-Spring 2023, graduated Cum Laude, and was a Peer Health Exchange Member.

During her time in Iota Beta, she served as our Vice President and Chaplin and assisted in program coordination.

Sis. Opal’s favorite thing about IB is “Being surrounded by an elite group of women who encourage each other to succeed!”

Opal’s postgraduate plans include pursuing a career in pharmaceutical sales.

Congratulations Opal! IB is so proud of you and cannot wait to see what you will accomplish in the future.

To AKA, thank you for shaping me into a better woman. An Alpha Woman.

To my sisters, though our undergraduate career has come to an end, our sisterhood is forever. We have thrived and conquered together, now it’s time for bigger and better. #WESEEIB 💕💚

Please join us in congratulating Opal McElroy of USC for winning our Spring 2020 $1,000 #textfreeforTita scholarship! Opal wrote a very powerful poem about the dangers of distracted driving! #glass ⠀
⠀
As a reminder, we give away a scholarship every semester to honor the lives of Tita and Emma Shaffer as we fight distracted driving in partnership with the Cook family!

Okay, I hate this picture, I wasn't going to do this because I don't really use Instagram much anymore, but since I got tagged like 4 times, I'll do it... Anyways, here's the 20 beautiful women tag... Or something. And I just don't know (or like) enough people, so yeah, I only did 15, deal with it.
