POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
This month, I stepped away from my laptop, my travel itineraries, and my to-do list to spend a morning doing something just as important: slowing down. As someone who spends so much time helping others plan meaningful experiences, I realized I don’t always give myself the same space to intentionally think about where I’m headed next. One idea from the workshop has stayed with me: “The vision comes before the visuals.” It was a reminder that before building a brand, booking another flight, chasing another opportunity, or creating another piece of content, it’s worth asking whether those things actually align with the life you’re trying to create. For me, Via Cimino has always been about more than travel recommendations. It’s about curiosity, culture, intentional living, and creating experiences that leave you a little different than when you arrived. Travel has taught me that the most meaningful journeys begin long before you board the plane. They start with curiosity, perspective, and a willingness to explore something new. This workshop reminded me that the same is true for life. Thank you to @openimpossibledoors for creating such a thoughtful experience. 📍 @neighbor.nyc

Your valley is dark. I remember being there. Feeling like there was no other place to go. Feeling like no one else could relate. Suffering in silence because I was the one who “had it all together”. Embracing the expectations others placed on me and not only trying to live up to them, but to excel at them IN ADDITION to my own. What I’ve learned is the moment you begin living your life on someone else’s terms and expectation is the moment you relinquish all control to someone who has no authority over your life. To someone who has no vision for your life. To someone who doesn’t understand or fully know the depths of your heart to truly begin to understand your desires. When you realize this, you will come out of the valley. You will turn your heart and your focus from them to Him who will guide every step. Who will reach to depth of your heart and pull out who you are truly being called to be … and to serve those around you using your gift. So are you ready? To come out of the shadow of the expectations of others and walk in your calling? I warn you… It will not look the way you think it should look. It will not feel the way you think it should. But it will be EXACTLY the way it should. I didn’t think I’d be an online business owner who uses social media to reach those who are searching for simple fitness solutions. Don’t miss it. More than that, the community I get to create supports growth in health, confidence and even financial growth for other women like me. Strange right? Not really … depends on your POV. Know this … I didn’t think I’d be here, yet here we are ♥️ I still am overcoming this but my awareness is heightened . . . . . #workingmomlife #preschoolmom #momtruth #transparency #growthmindset🌱 #womenempowerwomen

💕Women we Admire💕 Cassandra (Cass) McFadden is the Director of Energy Management at AvalonBay Communities, a sustainability warrior, an advocate for diversity in the workplace, and a mom powerhouse. Sure, she loves long walks on the beach in St. Barts but equally loves being part of the solution to climate change. Our Q&A with this #womanweadmire below! ⭐️ How do you actively balance your job and having a family? I’ve become very strategic about making time to grow my networks and expand my knowledge. As a mom of 2 young boys, it’s important that I’m present and deeply involved in my sons’ lives, but I recognize that not all opportunities conveniently exist within the “9 to 5.” I do 3 things to keep myself moving forward while balancing sacred family time: 1) I’m intentional about scheduling new conversations and learning opportunities within my work hours; 2) I carefully vet commitments so that I’m able to budget my time and coordinate my schedule with my family, and; 3) I routinely declutter my schedule to make room for future opportunities. So far, it’s working! ⭐️ Tell us more about your (epic!) role in positively impacting the environment: I feel both fortunate and excited to be part of the AvalonBay team as we’re expanding our sustainability and emissions reductions initiatives across our portfolio of almost 300 apartment communities. I lead the Energy Management team and help to mature the company’s renewable energy strategy. My work is truly exciting, and I especially enjoy the endless exposure to new energy technologies and innovation. ⭐️ What’s one thing we should know about who you are (rather than what you do)? I love (love, love!) interior design and restaurant makeover shows. It’s inspiring to watch designers, architects, foodies and other artists take on the surrounding landscape and culture, incorporating unique elements that are meaningful and powerful. I can’t always be on a plane to somewhere new, so these shows hold me over! ⏰ Join us tomorrow as we speak to Cass about the NEW Work/Life Balance. 6:30pm EST 10/8 on InstaLive 🤳 #womenweadmire #wfhwomen #IGlive #womenempowerment #9to5 #worklifebalance
